Jesus ... until you graphically create these maps you can't fully grasp the differences.

So... 50s for me on GFS and 90s on EURO. WOW. I don't think I've ever seen a spread like this??

Wow 00Z GFS has 2m temps in the mid 50s for highs next Saturday. As much as I hate to say it, the cooler solution will usually verify this time of the year. It's easier for a cold front to scream south of me than it is to hold it up north of me.

The MJO has managed to sneak out of the circle of death into phase 8 ( torchy phase ) heading for 1 ( cooler ) and thus what i suspect has to do with this. The models however have not done well with this either and thus why i would wait before jumping. Lets first wait and see if it can manage to get to phase 1. As of 12z the euro was not on-board with the trip into Phase 1 and thus crapped it right back into the circle of death in phase 8.

It's 168/174 hrs out, of course there are going to be discrepancies (and possibly large ones) between forecasted temps.

Then there's this.

It will still torch, it's just that the warmest air could set up further south (2010-esque).

It was hot yesterday at Devil's Lake in Wisconsin! And kinda busy too. Hit 87° at the airport, luckily there was a strong breeze mixing the air up along the bluffs, otherwise it would have been more uncomfortable hiking around the lake! Only 80° back home yesterday, but beating that by far today - at 85° right now.

Few pictures:

That is a neat area of Wisconsin. If you get a chance, go up to Lake Wazee. It reminds me a lot of Devils Lake, but the water is clearer and there is less people...and a better beach. Only $3.00 to get in.

Front blew through here with strong west winds... Temp dropped about 10F...NO RAIN.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that lake too.

Flirting with 90° with an 89° now. Strong storm cell east of Sterling, IL right now. Glad the dewpoint is low, otherwise I'd have the AC on.

Edit: Have hit 90° now. A couple weeks early for sure. Ok now it can cool off!

Traverse City had a high of 93 with a low of 70 today. That's incredible for May, let alone any other time of the year. The caveat is that the 70 might not hold through 1 am to make it official.
