With tranquil weather?

We are entering a much more settled period ya know...

I don't think this(AR1476) will directly influence our weather in noticeable way. What it will cause is minor disruptions with electrical grids and communications if it M classes. The northern lights is also a factor here. This is more of solar weather post I guess.

Some sites and experts are saying that the X class threat is minor then other ones are saying its high. The 1989 X Class event is a neat case on recent geo magnetic storms.

Other than a slight chance of some showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder Saturday afternoon/evening, Northern Indiana is looking dry for the next 9 days, with highs in the low to mid 70's.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. lol I'm lovin' it. If we aren't going to have severe, it might as well be sunny and pleasant.

More frost in N Michigan? I see Traverse City was 32F.

Might as well talk about solar weather, because there isn't going to be much else to talk about. 68-75F and sun the next week?

Would love to be camping...big old stinky dome tent, maybe some college co'eds ... couple 40 packs of Blatz :)

This one still brings nightmares to Saukville-

Haha, yeah really. I think Michigan got some from that storm as well.

Chilly morning low of 39°. Up to 58° now.

Sunspot #1476 poses a threat of X class flares and is almost directly pointed in this direction!

Fair enough. Although I think media's new favorite thing to hype up is solar activity. Ya know, because words phrases like "solar flare" and "x-class" are great attention getters.

Mixing heights around here have really been quite impressive. They have made up for otherwise marginal temperature profiles.

Yesterday we mixed up to 700mb for a high of 65*F (despite 850mb temps around 3*C or less), RAP and NAM are forecasting mixing heights of 750-775mb for highs in the mid 70s.

It's probably due to the steep lapse rates as well.

8 month old son had a deer tick on his arm... luckily we caught it right away. Those things must be just thick in this area.

I travel out to Pennsylvania every year and those things are so thick out there that they blow in the wind, not kidding either. I almost always find a few on me. Ask anyone out east about them and they will either know someone that had lyme disease, or had a pet that got lyme disease from those things.

I don't get the little area of Wal Mart Fans. Please explain.

Perhaps it's supposed to be ironic. Ann Arbor would be the most anti Walmart place in the state.

May should easily make this the warmest spring on record. The departures are pretty high already.
