Damage In Tolland
That's definitely not leaf-out. I'm at my parents' place in Westchester this weekend, and here we actually have leaf-out. When trees have any leaves at all..it is leaf out. It's not even up for debate..It's not 100% full leaf out..but it IS leaf out. Every tree has leaves on them..That is leaf out

I did shield her from the ones that showed the unfortunatley dead brown edges along the lawn/road border. I bet Joe can help you with that. Damage In Tolland
Did some reseeding in a couple spots today closer to the woods, and it's amazing how dry the soil has already gotten. Quickly the topsoil has dried out after the rain from Sunday. Hopefully the dry next 7-10 days overall doesn't pan out and we get some sort of decent rain event..but not looking very likely

You know what happened there and it happens once or twice during the summer when it gets dry is I mowed during the hot, dry spell in the middle of the day one time..and the tractor wheels burn it right along the curb. It's getting much better already though. It has something to do with mowing in the hot sun and the heat from the curb interacting with the wheel of the tractor riding over the grass

HoarfrostHubb
Our oaks are just starting to produce those little scrubby things before leaves. I got cooked at the ball fields today. Full sun and biting winds. My face is red
powderfreak
This evening around 5pm the White Mountains were sure looking "white" off in the distance. MWN is on the left. CoastalWx
Man first half of May is torch cancelled big time..maybe even whole month. Should be nice normal weather hopefully. Both cold and rainy intermittent with mild spells.

Both cold and rainy intermittent with mild spells. Yeah...looks wretched. Certainly no days and days of 70s next week. Maybe we can squeak a nice day or 2 out of Fri or Sat. That's a pretty strong trough over us in the extended from the EC ens.

Both cold and rainy intermittent with mild spells. The next 10-14 days look very dry..with a few showers Tuesday. Other than that normal to slightly above with the drought worsening. Maybe it gets wet after that ...but seeing how all the long range forecasts for wet have busted I doubt it
CapturedNature
28° for the low here (25° up in Union) so we had a nice freeze this morning. April might wind up being the "coolest" month relative to normal since October thanks to the last few days!

Monday looks great..maybe Friday if clouds and crap don't contaminate it. Otherwise, probably seasonable week to a little above inland. Seasonable in May means both rain on some days and warmer in other days...you know that. It doesn't seem that dry to me at all.

Tropopause_Fold
challenging forecasts coming up this week. hope we can get the warmth in here for a day or two but overall...troughing looks to dominate. tue/wed could be pretty ugly.
