champy
Flakes are starting to turn to more real flakes rather than big wet globs falling like rain. Nw its really starting to cover grass and branches. Branches already starting to sag. Good, will you stop whining now?

Ottawa Blizzard
It's gone up to 44 at yyz. Guess EC was right. Yeah, it looks that way. It really is odd how it can be colder south of us in Buffalo, with snow. This looks looks to be a possible non-event for Toronto, save for gusty winds and some rain. Mind you, the 6z GFS seems to imply that the bulk of the precip will come later this afternoon and evening, and the evaporational cooling could potentially cool us off once the precip starts. mississaugasnow
I noticed the dew points in Toronto have plummeted. If I remember from previous storms, that bodes well for a quick temperature drop once precip moves in right? (temperature 45 dew point 25)

Gravity Wave
Ah. It's been so long since I felt the wonderful feeling of getting more than I expected out of a storm while the "jackpot" zones suffered a grievous bust. The sad part is this was Ithaca's biggest storm of the year...

Logan11
I found myself about 25 feet from Mike Seidel when he was doing a live spot outside NYC's Penn Station before Thanksgiving weekend a few years ago. I guess I should have been thrilled and awed. LOL ...I just sat there waiting for my train and watched his crew doing it's thing with each segment. That was just to cover the holiday travel scene, etc...not a winter wx event. Over here it dumped rain all night at 36F. Really as miserable as it could be. Now foggy and misty at 41F. Damnit i wish i moved to orchard park a month before when im supposed to cause then id be there now and hes literally 3/10th of a mile from where im moving. If they panned the camera on his live shots you could see where im moving.
LakeEffectKing
SU Campus and the nearby hills had a sloppy coating this morning....all but gone now. Certainly further east with the cold column than I would have though, considering the model consensus.
Logan11
The air out in front of that one was just a bit colder. It also took a track that favored Central NY/Finger Lakes, but on the front end we got dumped on with 10 inches here, before the milder air won and it went to rain. This time a fairly similar evolution, but it produced 36 and rain here. impressive, I bet only a dusting downtown. I remember tax day 2007, that was a historic storm. Thats pretty impressive considering when I checked the forecast last night, no snow was even in it. The april 2007 storm dumped 16 inches at the same location. Logan11
The NAM finally gets some fun to you this evening and by then you have the "lack of sun" on your side. The surface low moves nnw and passes over me then hooks more nw as it stacks fully under the 5H low later. That's when the deformation makesits best run on YYZ. I suspect you won't have the intensity to flip to accumulating snow until late afternoon/early evening. BUF luckily went to snow just in time before the diurnal situation got too dire. Yeah, it looks that way. It really is odd how it can be colder south of us in Buffalo, with snow. This looks looks to be a possible non-event for Toronto, save for gusty winds and some rain. OSUmetstud
coating of snow here in West Seneca. Only grass, cars, and roofs are covered right now....sidewalks and roadways still wet. lakeeffectkid383
I think you guys stayed in that heavier band longer. Lightened up quite a but now and in my opinion looks to be setting up just west of BUF and precip to the east doesnt look impressive at all. Think this could be it? Maybe just light snow with the melting rate exceeding the precip rate?

OSUmetstud
the radar probably won't change too much from now through 00z. Bands will continue to intensify within the light snow and move westward towards BUF and then stop near Erie, PA. I would love to be in the band that extends from Bradford, PA to Sherman, NY. OSUmetstud
I wonder if we are in somewhat of a dirty dryslot at the moment. Small flakes might mean that there was drying in the 500-700mb layer and lighter convective precipitation underneath.
