Damage In Tolland
Lacking llv thickness gradients is a big reason in that ... Not unusual for latter April, either Have a feeling there are going to be some"disappointed" folks on here who are expecting big things from this on the eastern side

powderfreak
Picked up 0.65" of rain last night and currently waiting on round two. Pretty much all of VT had over a half inch last night and I was surprised at the swath of 1-2" from SVT up into east-central VT and NNH. Max overnight rainfall exceeded 2" just over the border in NH at Lisbon. Good start to some hefty totals.
moneypitmike
Agree. CEF had 15" of pure paste and the lower valley had a tremendous amount of tree damage, a lot of which is stll visible in these parts. Up here, it was pretty fluffly (22" IIRC). Not a bit of damage. I recall posts (probalby by Will) pointing to a tendancy for winters with preceding October snow events to be lackluster. We still managed some extended snow cover, but pretty bleh as we all know. powderfreak
Have a feeling there are going to be some"disappointed" folks on here who are expecting big things from this on the eastern side It's early in the warm season but I still can't get used to the KFS flip from snow season where everything will over-perform, go big or go home mentality to this cautious, people are going to be disappointed, no big deal type mentality. The change in posting style has me all confused.
Damage In Tolland
Big things? Weenies? SOS seems to think this is going to be one of the biggest storms we've ever had..It's a typical springtime storm..with rain and snows..Only historic thing will be the snowfall

No Will argued the opposite that snowy Octobers dont mean anything regarding the upcoming winter. I think it was KFS and Jerry that thought there was merit to that idea and they seemed to be right. I feel like I'm wating for flakes. Weird.

For BOS I think it was the opposite, but in all honesty...I can't see how a fluke October snow relates to an entire seasonal pattern. Just doesn't make sense to me. Logan11
You guys are lucky to have had one great KU storm this past winter, albeit in October. I'm a bit P.O.'d now to see the second KU (interior near miss category) pull too far west. Missed both ways ...but six months till the first flakes of a much better winter probably. 42 and ovc here now as we await the cold soaking rains. What I wouldn't give to have that happen again here

CT Rain
Right around 6z along the south coast you can see theta-e decreasing with height around 700mb coupled with a spike in pwats (nearly 1.5") and a 75 knot LLJ around 850mb.
