moneypitmike
Ahhh if only it was cold enough....that's a beautiful looking radar. We haven't seen anything like this in 6 months. Should be fun to watch this evolve today and tonight. MPM you are going to get slammed on the East Slope...oro enhancement FTW That's what I'm hoping. Looks like the ORH hills will do well, too. Unfortuately, I'm going to be driving to Jersey City late today/evening for meetings in the NY/NJ area tomorrow and Tuesday. I really prefer to be home during any type of weather event. Come to think of it, I really prefer to be home at any point. Just took a walk out to clean the collection bucket and to the beaver pond. Nice to have a break from the black flys of recent days. Baroclinic Zone
This is the kind of radar presentation/ storm where Ryan would get up in the winter and look at it and say he is concerned and first like the way it looks . And he would cut back his snowfall totals Clouds thickening here. You can feel the moist air as well.

OKpowdah
This evening is going to be a lot of fun. Keep a close eye on the WV loop. Huge explosion once the northern s/w dives southward. In the process now

OKpowdah
What sort of winds do you see? I think parts of eastern MA, the Cape and Islands could easily see gusts to 50mph late tonight / early tomorrow morning.

Yeah it's going to be in that sector to the SE of the warmfront/coastal front I think. Could see the Cape or ACK getting it.

Modfan
Getting 1-2" is pretty righteous at any point. In a dry spell, pop the corks. I agree, but thinking that eastern sections of CT maybe under 2 inches, all beneficial! What is the chances of dry slotting with this? Nothing but light mist so far, roads still dry
CoastalWx
I like the HRRR look to the sim radar. Looks exactly like how I envision it down the coast near Wallops Island around 03z. There is going to be that mega band of rain just n and nw of the low center.
CT Rain
BTW epic fail by Pittsburgh area mets. I went online yesterday and looked at some of their Friday PM/Saturday AM forecasts and virtually no mention of accumulating snow. Some "flakes in the air" and "no accumulation"... pretty big bust by them. Pre-10/29 around here there were some doubters but at least some mets were banging the snow drum pretty hard. Damage In Tolland
And then you'd ask Will and Coastal if there's any truth to it while telling Ryan he's wrong. He'd have already dropped totals from 12-20 down to 6-12 and would lean twds lower end..except in NW hills

CT Rain
The rain this afternoon is almost PRE-like with some synoptic scale UL divergence and increasing low level frontogenesis well ahead of the main show off the FL coast. The thing looks gorgeous on water vapor and has an overperformer kind of look where mesoscale banding goes to town!

CT Rain
West is best..less east of river Sneaky mesoscale features will dictate the heaviest. I think you're going to start seeing a band of serious frontogenesis set up somewhere where things will really go to town.

This thing is going to pour when it sends that LLJ intersecting the front into SNE late tonight. Maybe even a secondary convective band moving into ern areas tomorrow morning. Yeah I think with the PRE look you can count on the first half overperforming a bit... followed by some real fun mesoscale kind of stuff when the main show moves in tonight. I love watching these kinds of things unfold. Should be a fun night. I could see GON/BID/UUU/FOK ripping some good gusts right after midnight. This could have one of those narrow bands of tropical sheet rains along the nw side of the low in a n-s fashion over DE and NJ and then the whole thing develops further northeast into NYC and SNE.
