CAn we really even consider this a coastal..since it's cutting so far inland?

well, it has Miller A origins...

reminds me of that snowstorm that pegged us with heavy rain, but the trough was extremely negatively tilted, thelow traveled NW and places like Philly and the MidAtlantic got good snow totals...

The 2" of snow bet that he lost with you did him in.

(I don't recall the 2" happening yet, although I could be wrong)

Yeah this winter tested everyone but he's always been the most passionate about winter storms from being on the board 24 hours a day to recalling every event since WWII...I think this past winter must have did him in and last nights Sox game was the last straw ;)

Even this storm would be consider a coastal storm imo.

I also wonder if se areas see not much more than an inch or so of rain. Most of the time, the rain dumps on the cold side of the front..more like central and western areas.

I hated that storm. The rain/snow line was less than 5 miles to my west.

Was that the one that those idiots at Accuwx called the "snowicane"?

Bust #1? Wasn't supposed to get much of anything.

My forecast was for .1 and .25. Came in at .15, ftw.

There was supposed to be downpours and scattered thunderstorms..I got .04

They had that for you? Wonder why?

Inland/Apps runner?

No--it's a coastal. A hugger, but a coastal. At least until is gets to NYC.

Radar is already giving that look. This is going to be a far Western CT/Far Western mass into ENY state jackpot..with areas east of that in the 1-2 inch range..You can see it already setting up

The coastal front will enhance rains near and I think just west of BOS, but not until later tonight so that will even out the spread. All models show this. Already getting some ra and dz now.

Yeah its still going to rain with locally very heavy amounts where that front is. KFS model ingests that same radar in January and it's ballz to the wallz.

Chilly morning here. It was 39° F earlier, but has now risen into the low 40s. Eagerly anticipating a nice drought busting rain here as we really need it like the rest of you. I had about 0.26" of rain overnight from round 1.

Expecting about 2-3" of rain here from the main event. Great Miller A event, but if this were winter, SNE would not be getting the big snows with this type of track. It would probably be a quick front end dump followed by rain/sleet and dryslot. These NNW tracks are rather unusual. Someone out in the Laurel Highlands of PA and Alleghenies of WV is going to get smoked.
