Saturday is going to bust some forecasts..I see alot of showers all day and temps near 70..I'd be willing to bet it's near 80 and partly to mostly sunny for a good part of the day

Strongly agree. Showers will not be prevalent the entire day like most forecasts are advertising. Maybe even more sun than clouds. Not sure temps get that high depending on CAA behind the front, but we'll see.

Dude, winter isn't done yet in the highlands of western MA.

We average well over .5" of snow for the month of May.

God the 18z GFS is a nice snowstorm up here. Completely with wrap around upslope once the low gets north of here and all.

Where was this all winter... we couldn't even get modeled solutions showing a snowfall this past winter.

[

Scott, hope you get slammed. Locked and loaded for the jet airliner time fold in the AM.

Safe travels Pete! Enjoy!

Thanks Chris, tomorrow is my B-day and this is a great gift. Hope you guys do end up seeing a bookender. I'll have the 2011-12 Winter in the history books when I get back but before then there is going to be one hell of a last hurrah. BTW, if the unthinkable were to happen I hope you'll start a tribute thread for me in OT so all of my MA friends can post their fond memories of the times we spent together.

Happy birthday and safe travels, Pete.

Maybe I can glimpse some flakes. There's always hope anyway. At least I'm confident my grass can get some water.

.MONDAY NIGHT...RAIN SHOWERS LIKELY WITH A CHANCE OF SNOW

SHOWERS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION

60 PERCENT.

.TUESDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS.

HIGHS IN THE MID 50S. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 40 PERCENT

It's a fantastic view from the top of Mansfield on a clear day. Whites to the east and the high peaks of the Dacks to the west. Get us an Adirondack view next time for us Upstate people. :)

C'mon I'm patiently sitting at 4K waiting to take pics of picnic tables rapidly disappearing under the white stuff ;)

Where's my snow!?

At least the view towards MWN is nice right now.

Have a great trip Pete. :snowman:

When you get back we'll be about five months and change from the first flakes of winter 12-13.

Upton, NY Siding with the Euro and GEFS

http://www.crh.noaa....0&highlight=off

"SIDING WITH A MORE LIKELY 12Z ECMWF/GEFS

MEAN EVOLUTION OF THIS SYSTEM...WITH A MORE AMPLIFIED NRN STREAM THAT CAPTURES THE SFC LOW AND TAKES IT ON A TRACK JUST OFF THE MID ATLC COAST SUNDAY NIGHT AND ACROSS SRN NEW ENGLAND ON MON.

STRONG E-SE WINDS ALSO POSSIBLE DURING THIS TIME...ESPECIALLY IN COASTAL SECTIONS.

THIS LOW SHOULD BECOME NEARLY STATIONARY TO THE NORTH LATER MON INTO TUE...COULD BE A FEW WET SNOWFLAKES MIXED IN WELL NORTH/WEST OF NYC."

BTV leaning towards the Euro also.

http://www.crh.noaa....0&highlight=off

LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...

GFS FOR THE EXTENDED FORECAST...LEANING TOWARDS THE ECMWF WHICH

HAS SHOWN BETTER RUN TO RUN CONSISTENCY.

BY SUNDAY NIGHT...STRONG NORTHERN STREAM SHORTWAVE ENERGY WILL PHASE

WITH SOUTHERN ENERGY TO DEVELOP A COASTAL LOW NEAR THE DELMARVA[/b]PENINSULA BY 06Z MONDAY. THIS DEVELOPING COASTAL SYSTEM WILL TRACK NORTHWARD ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD AND INTO THE NORTHEAST STATES BY 00Z TUESDAY...

AS CLOSED 500-700MB CIRCULATION LIFTS ACROSS OUR

REGION. THIS WILL ADVECT PLENTY OF GULF/ATLANTIC MOISTURE INTO

OUR REGION SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...WITH A WIDESPREAD

RAIN EVENT LIKELY...AND THE POTENTIAL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL.

ACROSS THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACKS...ENOUGH COLD AIR MAY REMAIN IN

PLACE TO ALLOW FOR PTYPE TO BE SNOW...WITH SOME ACCUMULATIONS

POSSIBLE. MILDER OVER EASTERN ZONES...SO THREAT OF SNOW NOT AS HIGH

OVER THE GREEN MOUNTAINS.

FOR MONDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY...VERTICALLY STACKED LOW CONTINUES

Adios Amigos. Hopefully when I get back the fire and drought threads will be a thing of the past. Also, I look forward to reading the reports from the crushing blue bomb bookender that will have happened. Be nice and treat our MA friends with kindness and compassion. Think of me whenever it snows. Go Go Go !!!!!!!!
