Thanks. I got to 1850' which is one of

The highest points in Frederick county. Apparently I parked in a restricted area (camp David?). I got hounded by the park police and given a citation/warning and I am now in their system whatever that means. There was patchy snow up there with more than patchy on the vehicles. It was intermittently spitting snow, icy mix and 34 degrees. I am now at 1500' but think I should change locations before I get hounded again.

Zwyts the terrorist :arrrg::lol: Congrats on finding the snow!

I really should have gone to the laurel mountains...I was just pressed for time....my chase...was well....ummm...not spectacular though I did experience falling snow in late April, made a couple snowballs and took a few pics...I will post in a bit FWIW...I had GPS elevation and USGS elevation so.....mixing was generally above 1200'....snow on the ground above 1500' depending where you were....it was mostly snow pellets, grains and flakes from 1700' to 1850'....that was the highest I got........unfortunately I couldnt spend much time on Catoctin mountain because I was hounded by Park Police....I did park for a minute in a no parking zone to get a few pics of snow nearby, but had no idea it was adjacent to a classified area. (Camp David)...got a citation...I am "in the system" according to the guy.....When I told him I was a weather enthusiast chasing snow it was actually snowing at the time, but he looked at me like I was crazy...whatever...he was just doing his job...the 1st guy to chase me away was an a-ss, but the park ranger was cool...All in all a failed chase, but fun to check out a few local areas....Catoctins are cool..I spent a lot of time there as a kid....

It was a warning...I just didn't like the "You are now in the system" language...whatever that means....which is probably nothing

Pretty much any citation means you are "in the system" these days. I would assume it's nothing like you said, though.

these were all at 1700' just west of Catoctin Mountain except for the purple flowers which was at 1500' or so...In the pic of the car it is actually ripping snow pretty good but it is hard to tell....this was pretty much the scene everywhere above 1600' or so....the cars were quite a bit more covered on the ridge at 1850', but didnt get a chance to snap some pics....pretty meh, but cool for 4/23...the car was running 2-3 degrees too warm, so I think it was 33-34 probably

Probably means there will be 3 guys with a straight jacket waiting for you when you depart from your house tomorrow for driving 2 hours to see a snowflake.
