Most frightening Tornado videos on YouTube

His post implied that a strong tornado had never hit a large retail location before. There's nothing hypothetical about it. It happens all the time and there are plenty of case studies.

I will remember in the future to only use unimaginable when I literally cannot imagine the outcome, which means I'll never use it again. That should keep everybody happy.

Anyhoo... back on topic...

It almost looks like the vehicle sort of protected the family when it shifted-- creating a small safe space. Did the tornado acutally pass right over them or very close...? Either way, what an awesome survival story.

Indeed. That was some unimaginable luck.

Gosh, thanks to you all who introduced some of these missed treasure videos. I just have to chuckle tho when I know our weatherboard's most famous hurricane hunter (Josh) is just wetting his appetite awaiting his dream masterpiece chase after the last few years of disappointments(except Jove). I am really hoping for neutral ENSO through summer at least. But while awaiting tropical season lets hope some more tornado chasers get some great vids next few months...

Agreed, I don't see the problem with that adjective given the ostensibly large density of people in the mall.

Thanks

How many malls have been hit around 5pm on a weekday by a high end EF-4? Saying it happens all the time is a bit over the top, seeing as we don't have countless high end EF-4s on a yearly basis nor are they in close proximity to malls.

I feel you overstated it. See my comments above-- I don't have anything else to add. As a courtesy to others in the thread, I'm not going to go around in circles with this-- didn't mean to make it this whole thing.

It's like you can perfectly read my current state of mind. Bingo. :) I'm just really, really eager for something special this year.

And, yeah, a lot of the clips in this thread are really inspiring. No, I don't chase tornadoes, but I'm always going to be turned on by any extreme winds caught on camera.

Yeah I think it is best to just agree to disagree on this. We both have our opinions on the matter no sense like you said to go on about it. :)

This one is definitely frightening as you watch the tornado growing in size through the video as it moves directly toward the location the video was shot. To me the Andover KS tornado is top 3 easily in the frightening department.

Cool find. The occasional appearance of people reacting in the foreground adds an interesting touch. Agreed Re: Andover. That one event produced so much hot porn. It was just a very photogenic tornado-- in a populated area, well-lit, etc.

Actually credit goes to someone else on this one, it has been posted before on the forum, I want to say Cyclone77 over in the GLOV might have posted it before. Yes the reactions of the people walking down the street and then them seeing the tornado and a 'holy ****' reaction happens.

The chasers are annoying, but the video itself is ridiculous.

Just gorgeous, gorgeous footage. Omg. So much awesomeness in this-- so many cool details-- and the quality is so good. Yummy. The yapping dudes are annoying, but the footage is too good for them to ruin it.

Small detail: the tornado looked to be moving in a wider envelope of very high winds. That aluminum utility building (starting around 3:40) is well outside the vortex, and yet it's getting thrashed-- the roof is shredding-- and the flag atop the roof is yanking and flapping in a way that suggests a full hurricane-- or something close.
