Bryan Wood
Only really impressive cell is in Iowa now... All the tornadic cells are in Ks & OK. Please stop posting if you don't have any idea what you're talking about. It's misleading and people who may be lurking might be lured into a false sense of security. Thunder Road
Winterset, IA has a population of around 5,000. I sure hope there isn't a TOG in that cell headed right for them, since DMX allowed the TOR to expire. Edit: originally said I hoped there WAS a TOG, sheesh
SouthernNJ
The supercell near Macksburg IA may need to be re-warned soon. Some very large hail north of it near Hebron and Arbor Hill.

Have you seen the cell SW of Des Moines, was tornado warned up until a minute ago, and still has a hook so could get tornado warned again. I believe people do know what they are talking about, and it's not misleading.
thewxmann
Cells in KS/OK really are nothing compared to the IA cell. Not sure why things haven't increased a bit in the PDS areas Updrafts have not been very vigorous in that area, or at least that what it appears like from radar. The only thing I think would cause that is some weak subsidence in the area. Other than that I don't see a reason why they aren't producing significant tornadoes right now. Thunder Road
58 kt couplet on BV at < 3000 ft AGL on that Iowa cell. Granted, it's not a textbook meso, but I've seen TORs go up for a lot less.
iowahawkeyedave
Only really impressive cell is in Iowa now... Does seem pretty odd since there seems to be lower instability up here in Iowa, but I guess that's what the warm front can do for you. I'm sure the KS & OK cells will ramp up here soon as the LLJ increases.

Bryan Wood
There was a cell with a debris ball in Iowa earlier sheesh. Chill. Just cause you missed it doesn't mean I don't know i'm talking about. The cells in OK & KS have tornadoes on the ground. To say that the ONLY cell that's impressive is in IA is misleading to those in KS & OK.

SmokeEater
Decent hook/couplet NW of Sun City. Other than that nothing terribly eye catching. A bit underwhelmed by this event so far. Why are you underwhelmed when the event has actually overperformed so far? 15 tornado reports already, and most models weren't even showing intiation at this point yet. The bulk of this event hasn't even started yet. And these cells have shown, even the non "eye catching" cells are producing tornadoes. They're just in non populated areas. Dunkman
The 4:16 central time scan from KDDC of the Sun City storm was very impressive. It weakened substantially on the next scan though.

After last year, I'll take a underwhelming event with a few tornadoes in open country. That being said, I think it'll ramp up here soon since most models weren't even predicting storms this early. Dude it's only 21:30. The whole reason everyone was so concerned about this threat was the potential for nighttime tornadoes. I'm surprised we have this much going up now as it is.
