CoastalWx
BDL has hit hit 90...AMOUERT Always, always take the over at that hell hole It only worked because winds were very light. A stronger 190 wind which was forecasted would have yanked that.

Know your local climo and identify pattern...and you shouldn't need a model to tell you what the wind direction/temp should do

Brian5671
That's not the argument. If that were the case, why is Logan at 79 right now? i was kidding. same deal here with the seabreeze. I'm actually a bit surprised Logan went seabreeze that quick-would have figured SW winds would have won there...

They'll bounce back probably late aftn. I'm surprised myself.
Typhoon Tip
Somewhere between 4 and 7pm Logan may flip to the west-sw and see their temps jolt some 10 degrees when that happens.
Clinch Leatherwood
It was 84-85 on Cape Cod between about Exit 3 and the Sagamore Bridge. Drops into the low to mid 70s by Exit 6. Just over/on the bridge up towards south Plymouth it's about 81. Some influence from Buzzards Bay etc. I'm amazed at how warm it is over the bridge. weatherwiz
What really helped BDL IMO was the very warm start to the day (neaaarly 60F before 8 AM) and how quicly temps soared mid_morning. Between noon and 2 PM the temp only rose 4F...that's not a whole lot for the warmest time of day. I do think the southerly winds did help to prevent the temps from getting perhaps to 91 or even 92 for 2 PM.
CoastalWx
How much rain are we talking? 1-2"? 2-3" with some 4" spots in western areas of SNE too. Through hr 180.
CoastalWx
Classic SS signal for some. Heavy overrunning rains that evolve into a TROWAL firehose off the Atlantic. Don't know where it would be, but if it did happen..that's a classic signal.
ctsnowstorm628
2-3" with some 4" spots in western areas of SNE too. Through hr 180. That'd be a god sent up this way. Everything is so dry, even with the 0.5" we got last week with all the upslope....that basically did nothing outside of moistening the top layer of soil. It was already dried out by Friday. Damage In Tolland
A trowal is not going to drop widespread 2-4 inches of rain on SNE. Just remember that
wxeyeNH
TROWAL, tropical wall of moisture with a SE flow off the Atlantic????
CoastalWx
TROWAL, tropical wall of moisture with a SE flow off the Atlantic???? It stands for Trough of Warm Air Aloft. It's sort of like a warm conveyor belt of moisture that moves up and over the colder air at the surface. In all honestly, it's more of a warm conveyor belt of moisture that comes in..not completely a TROWAL.
