CT Rain
I don't agree with that at all. There are plenty of signs this stays toio far SW and we're left with south flow, breaks of sun and scattered showers..in fact that's a 50/50 shot right now..Each run the thing keeps cutting off farther SW Yeah it's possible... but as modeled it looks good right now. CT Rain
Noone considers BDR SNE..even the posters down there in FF Cty..feel like they are in NYC climate Wrong. It's SNE by definition.
moneypitmike
Noone considers BDR SNE..even the posters down there in FF Cty..feel like they are in NYC climate "I don't consider" completely ignores the fact that CT is a New England state. Your statement is akin to saying "aside from that, how'd you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?".
CoastalWx
The storm could cutoff further sw, but it's going to have an elongated front and if that front is nearby, it will not matter where it cuts off since that will be the focus for rain. We'll have to see how this evolves.

Your statement is akin to saying "aside from that, how'd you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?". Not to mention all the Fairfield County posters live closer to NYC than BDR is. If you say BDR isn't SNE is New Haven (only 15 miles away isn't SNE either). Branford? Milford? I grew up there and my family lives around New Haven and all of them consider it SNE. You could say the climate in Berkshire County at 2000 ft is closer to VT... so would their coop stations be considered NNE? How about ACK? There seasonal snowfall and winter temps are like NYC so you definitely have to throw them in there. What about PVD? They average just a bit more snow than ABE... so maybe they should be considered Mid Atlantic.

I can assure you that no one from NYC considers Bridgeport as part of NYC as it is something like 60 miles or so away (plus people have an annoying habit of calling anything beyond Westport/Fairfield "northern Connecticut") How many people would call Worcester or Portsmouth or Providence part of the Boston metro area? Those are all closer to Boston than BDR is to NYC.

blizzard24
dont count on storm next weekend for the sne area low will problem cut off to far sw or not at all . THe ridge will likely be stronger like the ecwmf model shows delaying rain until monday or stay west of the sne area or i-95 area .

CoastalWx
Bump for an answer If it's an elongated cutoff, then yes it could be muggy south flow, but that probably means more clouds this time of year with watersstill cold.

Yeah I can see 60 even low 60s dews, but his 70F fetish dews won't happen. I honestly hope we do get something..even if it means part of the weekend may stink. I've seen swampy areas normally wet in August starting to dry up.
