So this is the "payback" for the warm winter? LOL, it's a brutal 60 degrees and bluebird skies. I can't take much more of this payback, it's brutal.

I know it ...it's as though we are stuck in a 3 year climate that is its own unique character that doesn't fit into any decadal modes on either side.

I have read lots of articles that discussed the incredible warmth in the U.S.A. this past winter. Comparatively, the U.S. was among the warmest of the entire planetary anomalies over the last 12 months. More areas of the NH actually recessed in temperatures, bringing the Global means down some. Areas of eastern Europe and Alaska, and Russia had the unusual cold and snow depths. This has been uniquely a U.S. problem - can't blame it on anything other than randomness. But what is mind boggling about that is that "randomness" could cause Jan-Feb-Mar to be the warmest 1st quarter of any given year, EVER, period. You have just lived through the warmest ever late winter to early spring period that has ever existed. Think about that.

Yet, "only in America", as the old cliche goes. Only in America. wow.

Normally, so kind of event would transpire ...or perhaps a series, to balance things out and force the 30-year means to be what they are. But this period of seems to be defying even that. Interesting.

As expected/was written yesterday .. .the ensuing cycles of the Euro abandoned the cut-off soaker for for mid week.. .In fact, it's starting to look like the model's toying with the idea of holdin onto ridge in the west Alantic and it's influence extending onto the coast. The CAA is now very weak on this run at 120 hours....

You know ...this is the 4th time I've seen an operational run do a severe day in New England in the extended. It was D10...so ignorable....but it keeps popping up. Now D8 on the Euro.

It's got the hallmarks in that it's a GL origined open S/W with strong latitude penetrating barotropic region. It's that sorta deal -
