ski MRG
We've been getting some heavy wet snowshowers the last few hours. Big wet flakes. Still no sign of leafage, I think those nights in the teens recently put an end to any early stirring. I guess warm places like CT might have a bush or two leafing out put what an epic fail the full leaf out by April 1st was.
CoastalWx
He specifically said torch and 90 is possible A torch on Mem weekend is around 90. Usually a warm Mem weekend (80s) is as likely as a cool one (60-70).

nzucker
The leaves on the red maples opened up here today..AWT The first tiny maple leaves were starting to open in Dobbs Ferry....nothing of that sort here in Rindge of course, where I just arrived for the final term of school (although I'm actually leaving one week early to start a fellowship in NYC, so I have about 8 weeks of this job remaining). I had a squall of heavy rain around Waterbury CT, slowing traffic on I-84 to around 50mph, but it was short-lived, and roads seemed dry in Hartford. It's clear here with a crisp temperature of 33F.
