Looks to me like subsidence which has limited/ prevented any heavier rain for mos of our area today is now diminishing and should result in more shower activity this evening through tonight. We shall see if the weak band to the east develops now.

By the way a misty type rain has now developed here in Northeast Philadelphia

Must note it is very worth watching the banding setting up to our east with subsidence relaxed we could be in for a nice treat over night it is all about radar trends right now not the models for this IMO the more north you are the more rain you will see but even Philly could get in on this. Time will tell but radar is organizing rather nicely.

i would say the same area hit this morning central and northern nj into nyc look to get hit good again. The subsidence is killing that band off the coast further south. The RAP, shows this pretty well and brings another inch of around to those areas this evening into overnight.

1.05" of rain and stil hvy here in Monmouth. Very loud thunder woke me at about 4am, with torrential rains, and vivid flashes. Pretty nice event so far for here. Looks like another blob of rain SE of ACY may try to propagate up here

That band and later in the morning nailed Asbury Park...where I was working outside loading out the Bamboozle music festival...brutal.

wed and thursday timeframe look to be the days for slow moving drenching t storms around the region. Not every place will get hit but where a storm pops up it will not move all that quickly.

Yep...*if* we get a long enough break and some brightening around midday we could see a few thunderstorms this afternoon as well.

0z euro through sunday drop 1-1.25 over the area. Then another 1-2 inches in the monday to wednesday period. definitely could see svr weather in that timeframe. Big time battlezone over the area with cool over northeast and being on the northern fringe of that heat bubble over the south

meh..lapse rates are minimal, shear non existent, I wouldn't get too excited.

Storms are popping in western pa without any shear either. But the low level lapse rates are a good bit higher out there so that may be the driving force. svr storms not gonna happen, but as the day progresses into evening wouldn't be surprised if some storms pop. A lot of the guidance has something coming towards philly late this evening.

Not saying this will be right, by here is the 18z ruc for later on
