Geez...I hope it's wrong. I'm sick of all this gloomy weather. I'd rather go back to the pre-drought conditions we had.

the accuweather app i have here is forecasting rain tuesday through the following monday.

i like rain, but even that's a bit overboard. :arrowhead:

should put a dent into our extreme drought emergency though

So I'm assuming what we see moving into western NC and SC is what we hope moves up our way later today then. Would be nice. I'll take all the rain I can get right now.....sitting at a 5.07" deficit year to date with precip.

that will be later on this evening...just expect drizzle and maybe some widely scattered showers.

why am I getting a sense there are people actually cheering on the rain...unbelievable really

When we have a 3+ day stretch of 90+ temps and 70+ dewpoints this summer, I'll be sure to wonder why there are people cheering on extremely hot & humid weather... ;)

But seriously...there actually are a few who are somehow worried about drought conditions...personally, I'd prefer rain only once or twice a week and definitely not on the weekend.

I would rather have the rain over the heat. Its spring...its supposed to rain and we need it. You had your time to troll everybody this winter with the lack of snow and cold and I'm sure you'll be trolling again come summer when its hot and humid.

So...um....Ray...you were worried about coming back home to a desert!

:raining:

Looks like a nice weekend then more of the same :axe: next week

Anybody track down Grothar yet?

I am here. Any short term drought conditions we are experiencing now maybe a distance memory if Alberto comes up the coast next week or so. You may laugh at that prediction but it is a possibility like Irene/Lee last year. Oh for those who are now even thinking it -- what is this guy crazy - preaching drought emergencies in one breath and calling for an Agnes storm the next? How can anyone possibly take him with a grain of salt. But as some you have said --- I am only looking at the models and the models are pointing in that direction for next week with a possible tropical formation near Fla. Yes, I do preach the worst case scenario in this instance but with this crazy year of no winter- what else can I expect.

The GFS' attempts to spin up something late next week near the Bahamas aren't tropical in origin...it's an upper level feature that spins up a surface reflection after it crosses Florida...this is the same system that will dump a sh*tload of rain on Texas over the next week.

It isn't going to be Alberto...and the thing the GFS is hyping is likely not going to be that strong if it even develops...and that's a huge if.
