bluewave
Since January 1st NYC has only picked up 6.11 in of precipitation which is -5.79 in below normal. NYC has a shot at finishing the JFMA period with below 10 inches of precipitation. The last time that we started the year below 10 inches was 2002. I found some years going back to 1950 with below 10 inches of precipitation through JFMA. While 2010 finished the year slightly below normal, the other years going back to 2003 finished above normal. 49.94 in of precipitation is the new average annual amount for NYC. Most of those years were during the 1950's through mid-1960's, which were very dry times. I'm surprised 1965 isn't up there; 27< for the year.
