I guess I was getting spoiled by the warm weather though. I'm not ready for fall yet! :D

Jason, I have some software you might be interested in for your webcam. It allows you to make time-lapse videos, here's Thursday's time-lapse from my camera:

Not all the links are populated yet, just got this working on Wednesday and still fine-tuning everything. I have it doing intermediate videos every 2 hours starting at 8am and going through 8pm. I'm thinking about getting a digital camera just for time-lapse stuff so I can do it in high-def.

So...the day finally arrives! I am now of legal age and for once I don't feel old. :lol: Heading to bed now. I wonder what surprises are in store later on? Who knows but anyway, later folks! :D:thumbsup:

Seems like the year of the extreme continues, except in this case it is extremely boring. No winter storms in the winter, and no severe storms in the spring. It's all or nothing when it comes to weather the past few years.

Uh....it just seems boring because severe season is:

1) Not winter season

2) Not hurricane season

3) Tornadoes are RARE in NC despite what happened last year

4) Not exciting until their is a significant severe threat on SPC over NC.

Severe weather season essentially belongs the area outlined in red.

We still have a while before spring is over and we've had severe storms. I've been caught in two hail storms on the way home late at night already this season. I'd say we've had a great start...torandoes are rare in NC so don't let last year spoil you. Last year's winter and spring spoiled the crap out of us...and remember Irene? Jesus...if we don't get a close one in hurricane season are you gonna jump?

Folks,

As a longterm supporter of the People's Weenie for WOTY, I really appreciate when he makes weenie comments like this. it is very comforting to know that he is a fighter every year throughout the year. I think he has been extra weenieish this year to date. I sincerely feel he works harder than any other weenie at this BB. He has done nothing but great things for the SE region; he's quite the selfless poster. I hope and pray that this will translate into him finally winning the big prize. We'll know in just over eight months.

It seems boring because it has been boring. We had a boring winter, and now we're having a boring spring. It's either all or nothing lately the past few years. We either have a lot of snow, or none at all. We either have a spring full of tornadoes or nothing at all. If it's going to be boring, it could at least be 75 and sunny instead of this crappy weather we've been having since Sunday. It's either too cool or raining, or both.

Oh, and WRAL did a great job with the forecast this morning. "Chance of sprinkles and light showers in the southern counties early this morning." 10% chance of rain. Meanwhile, it's beeen raining for the last hour here in RTP. I didn't know RTP was in the southern part of NC.

I hate this weather pattern we're in. I don't mind the warm weather but I can't stand long periods of dry weather. I want rain ! I'm very afraid that we're setting the stage for another hot, dry summer. Another above normal summer temp-wise. I remember at the end of May last year the grass was nearly dead. I hope that doesn't happen again this year.

I don't know about the rest of the south but here in Georgia spring ends around May 15th. I generally consider May 15th to September 15th to be our "summer" season. Almost all of our 90+ days occur within this 4 month period.

My first 90+ last year was May 12 at 91. It was a very near miss on the 10th and 11th. I'd like to not see 90 again until Aug. :) T

I understood your point of your first post, however I do not agree with the point you're trying to make. It's a moot point but I'll argue it anyway. I think having boring weather through winter, severe and hurricane seasons will SUCK so much more than having a single good season in any category. You say the same thing during winter season "I'd rather it be not so damn cold if it wasn't going to snow". Well, move to Cancun. The weather is the weather. As a whole these "past few years" have been amazing for our area. If only we can flip a switch and have 75-80 with sun from here until winter season and then flip it again for 32 and snow right?

Don't count on WRAL to be accurate with scattered sprinkles...to be that accurate with small showers is like saying there will be brief snow in the southern counties but only 10% chance of snow in RTP. Does that make sense? It's hard. Larger systems are easier. They said 10% for a reason, they didn't say it won't rain in RTP for a hour.

This sounds right although for NC I'd extend it to the end of May, around the 20-25th....

Well, we had some boomers last night. And there is a chance for some severe storms this afternoon to break up the boring weather. I'm really tired of just having rain, though. Either have some exciting storms to track or let it be sunny and in the 70s for a week. Just having rain is not exciting to me. In fact, it's really annoying. It's kind of the same thing with winter...either snow or stay warm. This time of year, either have some good storms or just be sunny and warm.

Now, this is how a weenie needs to behave if he/she wants to win WOTY. This is classic, memorable stuff! Brick is clearly in full WOTY campaign mode, which is commendable. We bow down in deep respect and love for him. The only worry I have is that he is doing it too early for the voting public to remember and that he'll tire out by the time we get to the crucial late December period. In other words, I very much fear the early peak.
