Mr Torchey
I was down around Hudson,NY today. It was sunny and 60 there. Gross. It was nice to get home to cloudy, windy 40's. Snowed for a while here this AM. Nice. Nice bro! How much did you get, what is you're snowpack right now?

dryslot
I wonder what its like up there. It seems like it would be cool...almost Oregon trail like except they have electricity and cars. Maybe I'm totally wrong lol It is, If you like living in the great outdoors, It is truly gods country up there, Not very populated, But a great area for hunting and fishing and outdoor living
dryslot
what does the accuwx 25day forecast say about this? About the same as the GFS @hr 384...........
ChrisM
LOL... this could actually be quite a large upslope event. Localized cooling from forced orographic ascent may bring snow levels down lower pure H85 temps would indicate. At the very least, the summits of Mount Mansfield and Jay Peak are going to get crushed. We'll have to see if Monday night once the sun goes down we can get any appreciable accumulation down here in the 800-1000ft range. Who cares, your mountain wussed out and closed early . Enjoy your one run

CoastalWx
Yeah we could torch for a day or even two, but with that front close by..just a little uneasy at the longevity of it. Looks like the euro really shunted the warmth south. AWF. The ensembles are still warm so Monday the 16th could have a chance of torching, but like I mentioned yesterday...the front just to the north and northwest are concerning. Front looks like it slows or stalls on the coast, so we should be able to get some rain then.
CoastalWx
Regardless, should be a ncie day today with temps near or just over 60 in ern areas.

CoastalWx
Looks like BOX had a fetish for the word "stout" today..lol MAIN CONCERN FOR TODAY IS THE STRONG GUSTY WINDS OCCURRING THIS MORNING AND LASTING INTO THE LATE AFTERNOON. STOUT 850MB JET WILL STREAK SOUTH OF THE AREA THIS LATE THIS MORNING...WITH ANOTHER JET STREAK DEVELOPING OVER NY STATE. WITH STOUT LAPSE RATES AND MODELS/BUFKIT SOUNDINGS SHOWING EXCELLENT MIXING...EXPECT GUST TO INCREASE TO 30 TO 40 MPH. CONDITIONS SHOULD STILL BE BELOW WIND ADV CRITERIA...BUT A FEW SITES MAY FLIRT WITH IT. WITH THE STOUT WESTERLY FLOW...EXPECT DEWPOINTS TO DROP AS WELL AND TEMPS TO WARM INTO THE LOWER 60S ACROSS THE SOUTH SHORE. PRECIP CHANGES WILL BE SMALL AND CONFINED TO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE AS STOUT MIXING WILL DRY OUT THE LOW LEVELS.

HIPPYVALLEY
Pollen count and my allergies FTL. CoastalWx
You've been saying that the last 2-3 weeks I never said that. I and several others mentioned that with troughing in the northeast, you increase your chances of precip. Indeed we had storms develop, just a bit further to the northeast. The pattern coming up is different as we possibly could warm up for a few days and then have a front stall nearby. Eventually we'll get rain as the patterns kind of shift around.
