Hey guys...any advice on careers for a recent college Met grad? Just completed my BS from Umass Lowell. I've applied to 8-10 NWS intern spots and gotten "Eligible - Not referred to selecting official" lol. Getting tired of seeing that! Any help at all would be awesome

I thought you liked cold weather feel? Maybe you are a deep down warminasta after all?

It's not the temp/feel. I love the biting cold. It's more that it wreaks havoc with nearly all my activities. Last night I golfed and on every whole the wind was in some way hurting. It's sickening to watch your 120 yd PW shot carry 165yds because the wind got under it. If you're fishing, the wind can mess with your line in a hundred different ways, etc. Yesterday we were doing some aerial work that needed completion and being up 60+' buffeted with a constant and gusty wind only further complicated a tough job. It's the wind , it's here to stay, you can't fight it, you can only defy it.

Not for nothing, but it isn't out of the question that some areas along the coast see a little rain or even snow late tonight as a weak srfc trough passes through. Not all the models show this, but if it were to happen...I wouldn't be shocked if some areas saw some flakes. It could be only relegated to parts of the Cape..but I just throw it out there as a don't be shocked type value.

I bet the week averages out about normal.

I think if anything, the high temps will probably bring the averages down a bit, but yeah if it is full sun.. probably about normal. Still looks like it could become cloudy with sct showers in the aftn almost each day.

What an awful pattern coming up.

Yeah...looks like a week where no one really wins, but everyone will claim victory. MRG will post about how cold it is in the morning and LL will have 10 sun smilies in the afternoon despite SCT/BKN skies and 50s.

I know, I won't be able to take that. Just think, that will happen right through the summer as well.

This week is going to be horrible. Clouds and scattered 32.1F rain showers. Too bad something didn't work out in this set up. It's a pretty sick H5 evolution.

It's called April, and goes to suggest just how extreme the anomalies have to be to get anything winter like to happen at this time of year.

Now, the GEF -derived teleconnectors are really trying to bring the warm up at and beyond the 15th of the month, so for those that have finally given into the inevitability of season change, 7-10 days of a patients before the last 12 days of the month bake and bring the 11th consecutive month of above normal to the books.

Looks like another mild week with no precip. Fun fun fun

Mild like upper 40s in the hills and 50s elsewhere? Maybe one day gets near 60. They'll be precip, but it will be more sct and convective in nature. Looks like synoptic rains come preceding the torch...then maybe as front slows and stalls nearby.
