Boredom/Banter thread..Nothing but normal to slightly above

Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

Good observations... I wish it was a more populated region like the upslope areas in Vermont which are pretty much bedroom communities for BTV or resort towns.  It would be great to understand the snowfall patterns more in northern NH and ME from first hand observations.

Just a quick glance at a topo map and its easy to see why Saddleback would get a lot more snow than Sunday River.

It doesn't look like it got above 32F in Rangley today... nice chilly April day and I bet they've been seeing flurries and snow showers too.

Saddle back is closed until the weekend, running on 21 trails

I love this camera loop from northern NH... flakes in the air most of the day. Easily the least understood area in terms of snowfall and precipitation in New England... also the least populated.

I need to figure out how to set something like this up at Stowe. I'd be sweet to watch the squalls roll over the Green Mountain Spine all day long like the loop below (click on the picture).

Wow at the lake still being frozen over

Another wonderful day, sure it was coolish, but the sun is strong.........the week has left me tired and tan. As the winds pulsed thru the Ga pines, mother nature allowed a completion of a tradition as Phil's putt found the bottom of the cup at 18. As the sun splashed the Augusta faithful yet another sign of this years warmth showed its ugly head, the spring bloom had come and gone in Gods Country.........yet what she had taken away she will giveth with perfect conditions this weekend. The winds of change will rattle the Magnolias at the Masters, and the sun will continue to change our southern new england landscape, its a time of change, a time of renewal, a time of celebration, yet another promise of life a promise of possibility.

Enjoy these times, these days........winter will return soon enough.

I know that...but Trixie's posts were on point in that thread whether or not you agree with them or not until the end...

It was Chris who went on a random tangent.

This I agree with. But it is a seperate argument...I was fine with Trixe's points. She just misread one of my posts, or maybe my wording was poor.

How is Bermuda?

I'm not sure what he was looking at...540 thicknesses? That just means thunderstorms/small hail/graupel...aven't seen any model runs that showed snow in Bermuda for the 4 years I've been forecasting here. We'd probably have to get 518 thicknesses or something absurd.

36/24, it remained in the 30's at 2k today with a balmy high of 43 here at the house. Just a biting wind from the NW all day. So nice. Looks like the Euro continues to show fun upcoming. Once again disappointed by the failure to see the full leaf out that Blizz promised by 4/1. Still no leaves. On the bright side, we had fun blasting apart bedrock today.

So basically you are saying that it was close to a normal day?
