bowtie`
Great photo! Thanks. Nice depth on the petals. Thanks. I took alot of time with this set-up and varied the focus trying to get it just right. It only took about four hours and almost three Gigs of images but I was able to get a couple of decent shots. Love it! It makes my day when it makes someelses day also.

I don't know how applicable that technique would be in this situation, but what you did definitely worked.
Voyager
Nice pic! I'm wondering though, how it would look if you cloned out the leaf on the left side. For some reason, for me anyway, it seems a bit distracting and draws attention away from the flower itself.

I would also lighten up the background a little bit if it were me, but again, the blank canvass makes it easy to do almost anything with the shot. bowtie`
It almost has the quality of stacked focus. I don't know how applicable that technique would be in this situation, but what you did definitely worked. Thanks. I have heard of stacked focus but am not exactly sure what it is. Though, outdoor flowers are constantly moving in the breeze and have the habit of growing and opening petals and all kinds of movement so taking long times to make multiple exposures all exactly the same might be even move work than I am patient enough to attempt. Nice pic! I'm wondering though, how it would look if you cloned out the leaf on the left side. For some reason, for me anyway, it seems a bit distracting and draws attention away from the flower itself. I agree that it does put some *tension* into the image. But it is a natural part of the flower. Without it the blooms seem kind of *bare*. But that might just be the way I see things. Here is one from that same day that I cloned out the leaf and tightened it up by cropping it some just to see what it would look like.

bowtie`
please keep posting tulips I would but I only have three blooms in my backyard and they are all falling apart now. Might be done till next year unless I go out and terrorize the neighborhood with my camera and feel like having the cops called on me again. Will have to see if I feel up to the hassle tomorrow. bowtie`
nice capture bow. i like the leaf cloned. Thanks. Guess I will try and keep tulips blooms close-cropped from now on seeing how that is how most of you like them. Always good to get feedback on images.
