Wonder how much it will take to start tearing down some of the trees/limbs/shrubs that have leafed out.

How many leaves do you have on trees down there?

Gotta think all the weak stuff was ripped down in October so you're probably good no matter how heavy and wet the snow is.

Remember that event at the end of the January 2004? I think it gave BDL 10", ORH about 5" and BOS had an inch or less and the north shore got nothing. Ridiculous NE to SW gradient in that. I think it was 1/27/04.

This one looks like its got a decent chance of something similar to that... like a 6" at BDL and 1", maybe 2" ORH and trace for BOS. That would be fitting this winter for Boston... man they are racking up the karma points.

There is almost nothing on most trees...the valleys have a lot of flowers and buds, but nothing even close to the weight of the leaves that were on the trees in October.

It's like mid July down in Blizz land. If Kev let his kids play on the lawn they'd be running through the sprinkler right now.

In the CT valley most of the trees have tiny leaves on them..some moreso than others depending on species..so it may cause some problems .

There's also plenty of danglers still hanging that need to come down all over the place.

If we get 3-6 I suspect there could be some moderate issues

So are you locking in 2-4 after saying how all the models would follow the euro this morning?

zero leafout, according to Joshua, ct is in full leaf out right now despite pics. Tree leaf out is influenced much more by amount and duration of sunlight than anything else, very very hard to pop trees super early.

Sunlight and soil temperature. Two biggest factors right there. Sunlight obviously isn't going to change no matter what the weather does as the sun angle is the same from year to year. Soil temperature could get them to go a lot earlier than normal depending on the species. But of course it all ends up "happening" pretty close to the same date each year due to the sun angle not changing from year to year.
