How Much For Philly?

personally, I think it's a really hokey idea to use on radio all the time if that's what you're wondering. I'd avoid it unless there's a big snowstorm coming.

I wouldn't use it at all. It's an esoteric term from an online weather community. Not exactly speaking to the masses here.

Actually, I suspect that this phrase was used way before WWBB and likely dates back to mIRC chats. People don't realize that mIRC (I believe it was #neweather or something of that sort) was one of the first means of discussing weather in a semi-organized fashion. Many of the individuals that spend time on this board were also on mIRC. I can think of at least a dozen off the top of my head. In any case, it was rather common for people to log on during the late 1990's and ask "how much for X city?" There was a large following of both NYC and Philly folks.
