Multi part question:

Will tonight's mini sub 30's freeze affect NY's spring flowers? And, if so, how badly, (of course depending on duration / temperature.) Explain.

Brooklyn Botanical garden, etc. All the different spring flowering plants in every stage of bloom from Magnolia's to Cherry Blossoms.

More importantly, how about the fruit orchards?

In NYC the freezing point should only last 6 hours, while upstate may stay sub freezing for 11 hours, both according to weather.com.

Finally, if tonights freeze does no damage, then how low would a sustained temperature, both in temperature and duration have to be, to damage either flowering or fruiting flora?

Thanks for any and all input!
