SpartyOn
MJO Really comes in handy for tropical weather prediction. Also it comes in handy for our neck of the woods sometimes.
Geos
LOL. Weenie model. OK OK NOW it's going to loop back, oh wait... http://www.cpc.ncep....O/foregfs.shtml Lol, yeah the MJO is joking around! Looks like several rounds of frosts and freezes yet to go for the lakes. Tonight could be a nasty one if the moisture from earlier doesn't dry up then freezes tonight. hawkeye_wx
Ugh... the 12z GFS has now followed the 00z Euro in putting the kibosh on next week's warmup. Tuesday looks warm, but as the warm ridge tries to move east it gets squashed by persistent southeast Canada/great lakes troughing. 12z GFS has the lakes region back to 40s and 50s for highs with possible frost and freeze at night for the second half of the week. daddylonglegs
Nice...I figured the euro would win out next week. This month is running colder then March and it wouldn't shock me if we end up colder by the time it wraps up.
trapperman
Long range CPC outlook, you couldn't make a weather map that looks more like it than 168 hours on GFS. Obviously this isn't a lock all spring/summer long. My comment was tongue in cheek. Relax warmth lovers...
SpartyOn
The models are struggling here. Climo will be the med/long range forecast FTW.
SpartyOn
Actually the GFS isnt all that bad and if it were to verify one can expect that airmass to moderate allot. Also really liking that High pressure placed smack over the region mid/late next week. I see a good chance of pure spring sun with 50s and 60s FTW. This guy gives Ji a good run for the money. Only difference is they are polar opposite as far as wx goes. One is a warm weenie and the other a cold/snowy weenie. IWXwx
Cubs looking strong this year... Temps are going to drop like a rock when we lose the sun. ...... ....... It was 73 here at 2PM, down to 46 now. It won't drop as quickly here as up there, too many clouds.
Geos
I'm watching how quickly the clouds are departing. Starting to see thinning in the clouds here. Back edge is ~60 miles or so NW of here. Back edge is approaching the Milwaukee metro. If it clears earlier, could get some upper 20s in the area.
daddylonglegs
Dew point of 31F temp in the mid 40Fs and light winds/clear skies.... Easily should see 32F or so...
Geos
So far winds are helping to keep the lower levels mixed. Down to 39.6° currently. NAM still predicting widespread upper 20s west of LM.
cyclone77
Already down to 37 here.
daddylonglegs
Still 37F here...not sure what happened, but we never did drop off. Not seeing any frost outside.
hawkeye_wx
CR airport has been 34 the last couple hours. In my yard and, especially, the open field nearby there is frost. My bird bath under the patio tree is ice-free, but the bath in the open has a decent layer of ice on it. I hope this is the last frost/freeze... I'm tired of this stuff. daddylonglegs
Hawk---would look that way...GFS looks pretty good this morning... Euro has a weird look to it, but shows a big trough in the west while we should torch after day 7... Long ways out and probably end up wrong, but still something to watch. Phoenix, AZ should hit 100F today... Man summer starts early out in the desert.
