CT Rain
Lol, you lowlanders are screwed. I can't believe the flowering Peach tree photo Ryan posted that's insane. Have they even blossomed in Georgia yet? Isn't that crazy? Sometimes they don't even look like that on May 1!
ski MRG
How much snow have you added up this month to date? What has your avg temp been this month? 8.5" to date. After you said it would be a snowles month. I have know idea what the avg. temp has been as I am not that much of a geek.

ORH_wxman
Down below freezing here now...31.4F. NAM looks like it will end up more of the winner in this one...coldair on a N trajectory rarely moderates much.
CoastalWx
I know, just about the most repulsive stretch of weather I can remember. Still, we don't have fruit trees flowering here, none that I've seen at least. You know me..I love snow, but it's been warm. No way around it. My plants are always getting a boost this time of year from the proximity to the house. So 80 with sun reflecting off the house will have much bigger benefits than 50F. ski MRG
Isn't that crazy? Sometimes they don't even look like that on May 1! It really is. I can't remember ever seeing anything like that this early. There was one Easter when I was a kid that I remember being in the 80's but that's about it for such crazy early warmth. ski MRG
How much do you avg in this "winter" month of March? I think the March average snowfall here is about 15-16". There is still time to add to this year's take.
mayjawintastawm
Peach tree in Middlefield. 4 hours of sub 25 may cause some trouble. Dang, that's pretty. Lyman Orchards.... best peaches I've ever had, anywhere. Miss that stuff. They're on a hill, but..... No produce out here worth talking about, unless you count melons.... Yeah 17 for here...don't think it quite makes it that low...but from a few days ago when the GFS had like 25 and NAM had 19...NAM will probably win. This is the best delivery, especially for lower elevations. I was a little skeptical until yesterday, but the core of the cold comes in right during diurnal min. It's not warming up aloft like what can sometimes happen during the overnight. I wouldn't be shocked if Logan hit 24 or so. If they were to impress me, it's this wind direction that does it. HoarfrostHubb
From today's boston.com http://www.boston.com/Boston/metrodesk/2012/03/mass-farmers-see-unusually-early-growing-season-worry-about-cold-temperatures-tonight/yAvZvjcTmVBOR3kSaCz0dM/index.html?p1=Well_Local_Links John Stephenson, general manager of the Bolton Spring Farm, said he would be much happier to see a normal growing season. “Even when [the buds] normally come out, in April, we still have the potential of them getting frosted,” he said. Now that the fruit is ahead of schedule, there is even more of a risk. “We don’t need last week’s weather whatsoever.” Stephenson, now in his 70s, has been working at the farm since he was young and he said that even with the majority of the fruit in the bud stage, there is a risk of damage. “I’ve never heard of it in all the time I’ve been here,” he said about the early growing season. “There’s nothing I can do.”
wxeyeNH
There are fruit trees blooming in NNE, mostly certainly if you had one...it would be too. Nothing blooming around here. I have 25 apple trees with very small buds. Forsythia and other trees seem to be blooming from Concord NH south. We are safe up here. 26.6F up here on the hill

ski MRG
I saw a story in the news about some blooms in Maine, but it must vary. Here you have me believing there are palm trees in NNE. I guess just because you have a red tag I think you must have some inside information when in reality you're just getting your factoids from shows like "The View". Hey Scott, there are fruit trees already bearing fruit in Quebec, I read it in the World Weekly News.

CoastalWx
Must be in Southern Maine, I have not seen any around here Well for 5 days last week you guys were warmer than here. I can't see a big difference between interior Maine and southern Maine. LOL just going by what I saw. Of course Pete thinks his growing season starts in June and ends in August. CoastalWx
Either way Maine had that late season snow and freeze back in may 2010. I know there was some damage (probably worse than this will have) and they managed just fine. So we'll we.

Yes, I only hit 80 for the final 2 days, But the southern end saw i think 5 or 6 days in the 80's so i would agree with what you saw for those areas
