Sundog
We just edged ahead of 1991 for the warmest first half of the year at Central Park. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/national/2012/6/supplemental Sorry don't buy it you guys didn't factor in UHI! Manhattan and surrounding areas still had farmland in the early 1990s! On a serious note, the heat stretch has been nothing short of remarkable. Isotherm
It's certainly felt like the warmest year on record. With the exception of winter 2010-11, we've been torching since spring 2010. I would love to experience one of those blue lines on the graph - back in the 1800s - average yearly temp in the mid 40s. But unfortunately we never will with the oceans boiling over by 2050.
