The silver and red maples have been flowering for a few days+. but still no flowering of the Norway Maples. I noticed the first forsythia flowers on the neighbors bushes today and it's looking like tomorrow or Thursday they should really start to pop. My area seems to be similar to you Kev factoring the latitude and elevation differences.

LolWho da fook are you?

I am perfectly content with 55 and sunny this time of year, as I have said over the years time and time again, I enjoy the evolution of the season, some warmer days are nice, but I also enjoy the cooler rainy days as well and is much needed right now, especially for work.

Obviously I sit some 500+ west of u guys, but yes the azaleas are blooming. No shocker they are blooming out east too. I think the warm winter combine with the warmth aided in rapid blooms.

Yeah like I said, I've seen the other trees bloom too. It's nuts. Too surreal IMO.

Yeah, we need some long steady rains (or snow).Could this type of Morch be damaging to lawns?Or if we get an early leaf out then a Tip Wet Blue Maple Mauler...

Nah, lawns are fine, looks like this insanity will end just in time. Need rain, I spent a couple hours hand watering a few lawns that were overseeded, irrigation systems have not been turned on yet. Need to keep the seed wet so it will germinate.

Enjoy the next three days, looks like only 5-15 above normal after that for a few days.

It's really weird out. I was just grilling outside with a beer and it feels like how it should 2 months from now. I keep looking around and saying to myself that I need to clean stuff up, and then I remind myself it's March 20. It feels great, but boy are people in for a surprise if they think Spring is here for good.

The genie's not going back in the bottle though. We may cool for periods, but we've basically had spring for a couple of weeks. Get everything growing, warm the waters, start the cycle.

I think most people would be quite happy with some crappy weather after this stretch.

I was outside playing LAX with the kids barefoot in shorts and a tshirt. Birds in the sky, the bats are back, peepers deafening. South spring wind blowing. Flowers blooming, animals are doing their barry white....it's just great.

Well 45-50 and rain is pretty depressing to be honest. It's not like the 20s are coming back, but temps under 60 are pretty useless. I'm sure we'll have some bad stretched coming up...hopefully they are limited.

Yep, we were throwing woodchips up and watching them dive bomb. Hopefully not suffering from that fungus and out doing their last kamakaize flights.

True but honestly...if it were crappy for a week after this who can complain. I mean Scott it's been 70 for an entire week in New England in March. I mean we have to get some crap at some point I suppose.

This doesn't happen this close to the coast. We usualy get fog or some other crap off Buzzards Bay. To go 4 or so days with this weather....just unreal.

No doubt, I'm sure we will never see this again. I guess my whole point is that while very enjoyable..this came a bit too early. It may be a while before this comes around again. Hopefully it does, because it would be a shame for us to go well into Spring and not have this stretch of weather appear. We've had early June not even be as nice as this.

Can is there anyone like downtown in Beantown that can verify that it is really 56F in BOS?

That stubborn 4kt bearly flag wobbling drift of Harbor puke at Logan has them down to just 10 above normal - the nerve! lol

It was 57 right along the shore in quincy today, while it was 78 at my house about 3.5 miles west

I drove through quincy center, then headed east, and in a stretch of about 200 feet, it got really windy and smelled like ocean, and I watched my car thermometer go down about 1 degree every 2 seconds to 64, and then gradually down to 57 right at the beach

I wonder how many years you have to go back to get this much spring warmth in March? It's 70.1 at 8:15pm.

You pretty much have to go back to 1945....1946 had similar stretches but I think this 4 days stretch will beat any 4 day stretch that month.

Yeah but this will beat 1945 won't it? We have nothing on record that is as extreme as this right?

This month? I'm not sure we beat 1945...the cooldown will probably keep this under that and maybe 1946 too, but we shall see as we get closer.

Sure, the party has to end to some degree at some point. I guess all I'm saying is we've been so fortunate...heck we don't get stretches of weather like this in June and early July sometimes. It's just great in a lot of ways. I do have a great fear of savage drought this year.

That was shot today? Why the F is everyone wearing parkas and gloves and hats?????

No kidding, talk about overdressed.

First thing this morning was about 30 in spots on the mountain. I found frozen groomed at 200 on a sheltered run, we broke fresh tracks on groomed at 1230. We switched to shorts and tee shirts at 1100. Just great.

Fail on their PR teams part. Embrace the torch. Show people having a good time in Ts and sunglasses. Don't pretend it's midwinter lol.

At that moment in time, it was 79 in Jamaica Plain. Now bos at 66.
