TerryM
The isostatic effect in some areas is astounding. At L'anse Meadows in Newfoundland areas where Viking ships once floated are now grass covered and in Labrador beach line after beach line is engraved on towering buttes. The Viking site was most impressive because of how recently the rebound had occurred. I think I read something last year that claimed that parts of northern Greenland were rising at 2 inches per year, that represents an enormous loss of ice and has to be adding stress to any fault lines in the area.
