OHweather
CLE has already hit 81 intra-hour, the previous record was 76. The all time March record high is 83. Yesterday the lake breeze reached KCLE between 3 and 4pm EDT, so we'll see if we can muster 2 more degrees today. Along the lakeshore, KBKL is at 67 with a NE wind off the lake. michsnowfreak
DTW hit an intra-hour 82F (now 81F), so while we knew the daily record high today would be smashed, this ties the all-time March high of 82F set on March 28, 1945. I should note that in 1945, DET was the official station for Detroit, and today, DET maxed out at 79F (so far). I think DTW being slightly further away from the water will help them score a couple of degrees the next few days on DET. Detroits March temps of 80F+: 82F - March 28, 1945 82F - March 20, 2012 81F - March 22, 1938 81F - March 24, 1910 81F - March 26, 2007 81F - March 27, 2007 81F - March 30, 1998 80F - March 8, 2000 80F - March 31, 1943 What Im really interested in is what the warmest temp in MI will be. Over the years, quite a few March maxes have been in the mid-upper 80s to the north and west of Detroit. If Im seeing correctly, the warmest March temp on record was 89F in Lapeer on March 27, 1910. Stebo
Today Detroit tied their all time March record, tomorrow we will break it, I think we hit 84 tomorrow. As for the warmest temperature in the state currently, Willow Run is currently 85 with Bellaire/Holland/Flint/Rogers City/Traverse City all are at 84. Flint at least beat their all time record by 2 at least with 84. Maybe intrahour spike that could be higher.

Hoosier
I guess if they hit 90 I will have to eat a shoe for BeastFromTheEast Looks like there is a pocket of slightly warmer 850 mb temps up that way. NAM really doesn't have 850 mb temps above 16C so 90 may be a bit out of reach. Either way downright hot for this time of year.
Justin
With all the warmth we've been having the monthly avg. right now is only 50.4 at MLI... enough to be the warmest March on record so far but only by about .8F over 1910 which I believe is #1 at 48.6F.... seems like our monthly temp would've been a bit warmer so far but we had some chilly days the first five days this month before the pattern flipped. Geos
Anyone catch this potential record!? This is the rough temperatures at the bouy in the middle of Lake Michigan between Holland, MI & Racine, WI. Incredible. michsnowfreak
Detroit (84F), Flint (86F), and Saginaw (87F) all set alltime max temp records for March today, March 21st. Many other cities to our NW set even more impressive March records, including 85F at Houghton Lake, 87F at Grand Rapids and Traverse City. I saw a few 88s, but no 89s, so it looks like MI's all time March temp record (89F in Lapeer on Mar 27, 1910) was not broken. Hit 83F imby, with Grosse Ile right on the water "stuck" in the 70s.
