And the radar is showing otherwise as these things are just wimpering out. The SPC is simply saying there's a chance

Bingo. Nothing is over until the cold front passes.

Edit: I'll admit that the tornado threat has likely diminished. I wouldn't rule out the threat 100% but winds are still in play.

Oh I thought you meant penny size hail was the best you've ever seen. Yeah springs haven't been too kind to us lately but maybe this year will be different.

Yeah, but my point was that's all it took for me to get just that (the storm took place in an atmosphere with temps in the low 80s and dewpoints in the low 60s during peak heating after full morning sunshine in late March).

The variables with this event hardly compare to that one.

You going to the bar?

No my friend, Im saving my liver for Saturday. Pitchers of Guiness FTW.

Long nite = Looking at the radar we will have convection around well through midnight it appears. Splitting weak low tops and small hailers. Maybe a spin up to get the sirens blasting. Shear is still kicking a tad.

BTW, nice animation. I like that color table you have for the SRV, picks up the couplet nicely.

Ahh ok.

Just got back from an hour drive, the damage reports for the Coleman area are vastly understated... Sorry no pics cause the road was so full of people gawking. I followed an 8 mile long track of damage that went from a roof blown off and barn blown down next door to my ex business partner's house to a mile and a half from my house at a gas station with the awning blown partly off. Hundreds upon hundreds of trees down along the storm path, power lines twisted all around. One house had insulation wrapped in a treetop laying in their yard. Several flipped campers and boats and trees thru campers. Debris in the farmers fields and sheet metal wrapped around trees. Some 60ft or so pine trees were blown down that I used to climb at my friends parents house years ago.

Edit: DTX now says it was an EF1 confirmed tornado (duh).

Not surprised by this considering the damage pictures that Kab linked last night.
