I think northern PA or upstate NY is pretty close to perfection if you're looking for awesome winters, 4 seasons, and good T-storm action in the summer (certainly more than NYC area). They can get quite humid but generally not many 90s.

You are in a cooler area where warming is limited by sea breezes, and you also have less urban heat island.

I know we have this BDCF coming in, but the flow coming from the west/SW is nuts right now. I just flew home from Chicago a couple hours ago and we made it to NYC (not landed but over the city) in less than 80 minutes.

Hopefully it burns off like that for a while tomorrow during the day.

Looks like at least the cool down has entered Manhattan, the PWS's around here are now between 57 and 60 as opposed to mid 60s about an hour ago.

The saving grace appears to be that water temps just beyond NY Harbor hit 50F today, more than one month earlier than last year, and right now they are sitting in the 49-50F range.

There have been times in the past where I could literally see the marine layer and low clouds come in from the east in these situations. Then you're just socked in.
