HoarfrostHubb
EDT is a disaster...they should only have it from June through September...so it doesn't interfere with potential snow events. At the very least they need to make sure October is on EST since October is a now a huge snow month. lol But they should seriously just can it altogether
weatherMA
Congrats litchfieldlibations on the 84h 18z NAM. 18-24 hours ahead of the euro (and south).

Seriously you just kneeeeew this was going to happen. Euro has the pattern we were looking for all winter coming up for the beginIng of April. Talk about a kick in the junk. Yup, a few of us have been half joking for 6 weeks that spring would be a screw job because the winter pattern we longed for would kick in 2 months too late. Maybe we can get the right blocking and have a coastal low spin in the GOM for a week bringing drizzle and low 40's.
ORH_wxman
I wouldn't count out 4/2-4/3 either at this point...Euro has us warm sectoring in that storm, but the block is potent and it could easily get pressed underneath SNE. Ensembles hint at this...prob several members have it and other dont as it keeps the 0C line barely south of us.

Mr Torchey
What a tale of two days, brutal just brutal till around 1pm, then the winds died, the temp climbed into the low 50s and with the landscape splashed with a strong sun it was simply delightful! What a difference a few hours made.
wxmanmitch
Just pouring over the 12Z Euro stuff now. Looks interesting to say the least, even if it doesn't lead to anything. Verbatim it looks like a 2-4", maybe spot 5" around the Berks/GC on Sunday and possibly a more significant storm D9-10. Who knows, the D9-10 situation could mean West Chesterfield has snow until July if it were to verify...

ski MRG
an inch of rain would be nice You're safe here Forky, it's ok to hope for snow. I know you secretly want a freak spring storm to bury you. It's ok, we understand. Please stop the contrarian schtick and just be yourself. We'll probably like you more. ski MRG
Many of us would like you to issue thoughts/ideas for areas other than the Berkshires Mitch consistently has commented on the outlooks for other areas especially when it pertains to snow. You just don't live in a snowy area so he hasn't had a reason to mention the Tolland plateau.

wxmanmitch
Many of us would like you to issue thoughts/ideas for areas other than the Berkshires Point taken, I will try to post thoughts on other areas when I get the chance, but there are other good mets on here (Will, Scott, Ryan, Phil, Tip, etc.) who continue to offer good info about areas to my east and south. I tend to focus more on WNE and E NY as it is not only the area I'm most familiar with, it's also the area that gets the least coverage on this subforum. Granted this is likely at least somewhat a result of the lower population density out this way as there are fewer people (and degreed mets) for that matter. Yeah, there's probably some IMBYism in there too. We're all at least a little bit guilty of that even if we don't want to admit it.

CoastalWx
The thing about meteorology and mets, is that input from various people help make the disco all the more better. It may be a competitive field, but everyone has their own little specialty. When everyone contributes, it makes the disco all the more better. Mr Torchey
bos-3 pvd-4 bdl-4 orh-4 It felt so damn cold I thought the departures were going to be massive, I guess its been so warm that today was just a touch below and really nothing special at all, probably the only below normal day for the next 5. Im shocked I was miserably cold until the wind laid down early afternoon

It's more productive to cover the areas you are most familiar with. I'm good with how different set ups affect NVT but would really just regurgitate model data if I talk about other areas. I enjoy the local thoughts for the Berks, Boston, the Cape, interior SNE, etc and we have plenty of Mers that cover all the different areas. Since Will said the ECM looked like 2-5" and Mitch says about the same for the Berks, how Kevin can't figure out what that might mean for his backyard is beyond me haha. Exactly and well said...if AMWX put together a New England forecast team I think the members here could come up with a very accurate forecast region-wide with everyones specialties and local knowledge of their backyard weather.
