For students who are active with weather (on forums, forecasting, interning,etc) by the end of the second year they begin to really have a handle on forecasting techniques, pattern recognition, etc as they head into their 'junior core' of hardcore MET classes. You'd be amazed if you saw what some freshman and sophomores know here. Even the broadcast sector is getting a headstart with technology nowadays.
