CT Rain
There is going to be some major , major crop damage tonight. One that I fear the farmers will never recover from and one that will scar the landscape all summer A lot have insurance for apples so they'll be ok. Damage In Tolland
Did a story today about freeze concerns and the farmers I spoke with in CT say they're about as concerned as they've ever been about tonight's freeze potential. They say most of the fruit trees are a full month ahead of schedule... which is by far the earliest they ever remember. I said this all weekend and most on here scoffed at me..saying we aren't that far along etc etc

HoarfrostHubb
peaches, plums, and apples. Pears to a lesser degree. Peach and plum trees are in full bloom... apples have fully budded but are a couple days away from blooming. I was surprised... I thought we were ahead of schedule but not so far ahead that we'd have problems. That stinks. I don't think we are quite as far along up here. I will keep a lookout for articles, etc. that mention this in the northern part of Mass.

CoastalWx
Well they'll be troughing over the northeast AWT, but it really will be tough to nail down a threat with s/w's running wild. As of now, I don't really see anything imminent.

CoastalWx
This weather blows. I keep thinking about how much of a waste this temp is, unless there is moisture. Bring back the 70s.

The wind was absolutely ripping at 2k today with the temps steadily falling through the 30's with the occasional flurry. I thought it felt fantastic and if we never got warmer than today that would be fine.

tamarack
When are you forecasting huge fissures to start opening up in the earth's mantle and the subsequent disintegration of the planet itself? That shows up on D15 of the latest gfs - but Kevin doesn't look at that one.

I think Blizz should have his own weekly hazardous condition segment during Ryan's weather forecasts. He could alert people to the possibility of locust swarms, famine, that sort of thing. I bet that station's ratings would soar.

Well like I said, if you are going to try and venture a guess on the pattern beyond 4-5 days...good luck. There is a lot of variability next week. Maybe it is dry, but I think it is difficult to say with confidence that it will be NW flow and dry, right now. It's not impossible, but there is crap flying around everywhere on the models. Stuff may appear or disappear real quick. But, If I could have these temps 1-2 days before a storm..by all means. The winter wx weenie in me just sees this as a waste. There's a ton of spread in the ensembles...it almost looks liek they try to have two systems..one around 3/31-4/1 and another 4/2-4/3....but probably some have it one day and the others have it later. As you said, with so much uncertainty in the models (as we mentioned was likely in this cutoff pattern)....we won't see much continuity.
ORH_wxman
Already approaching 40F. Chilling off. Expect the models to moderate in the next 2 hours...this will be like the torch pattern...no temps below freezing.

Why is Forky's trolling tolerated while others face severe sancitions for less provocative actions? I'm not lobbying for Forky to be suspended mind you. I find his gadfly status amusing. I'm just trying to understand the seeming inconsistency in the application of a rather vague set of standards.
snowNH
My biggest fear is this mild Nw flow continues for weeks and this turns into the worst fire season in Sne history There is going to be some major , major crop damage tonight. One that I fear the farmers will never recover from and one that will scar the landscape all summer Could be one of the worst freezes we've ever had It's going to decimate alot of the flowers that aren't usually growing now...The apple orchards are gonna get destroyed I heard apple sauce and fire extinguishers are flying off the shelves at Walmart....
