powderfreak
It's not a dry pattern. A little rain and snow Thursday, then something(s) between the 1st and 4th. It is dry if you have an extreme weather fetish and are always looking for the next purple and pink QPF-color scale event.

LOL, yeah that's true. Just doesn't look all that dry to me right now, but I suppose storms could miss and models are wrong.
klw
Here's the backyard and neighbor's barn a few minutes ago. It is also very windy.
powderfreak
Snow has stopped now, but this is more like it... white outside. At least for this cold snap it'll feel wintery with a skiff of snow on the ground again. From before sunrise... I'm going to miss that feel of quiet with the only noise is the roar of the wind gusts and snow sifting through the base area fog lights. Watching the white stuff drift all over the place. Allenson
Holy smokes. I jumped in the shower and came out ten minutes later to completely white ground. Down to 29 now and a solid 0.1" of snow. Put it in the books. Still snowing now but it's lightened up from the white-out I missed whilst bathing.

Modfan
Looking at the NWS long range outlook, appears they are looking at precip in New England in the well below normal range, so wonder how this impacts any future snow events?

J.Spin
You should start to stick soon... when I left town at 5:00am I had a measurable 0.1 on the car and mulch/grassy areas were turning white at 33F and that was at 800ft. I'm not sure what time it started at our location, but at 6:00 A.M. observations time there was a solid 0.5" down and it was snowing pretty hard. My wife reported only another tenth of an inch by ~6:45 A.M., so it must have slowed down not long after I left. I took a core etc. and I'll pass along the liquid data in the NNE thread when I get a chance to write it up later.

Clinch Leatherwood
50 in Boston at 8am not bad. Mid 40s here spiking for a bit under beautiful sun before the cold arrives. Nice to see the snow up north. I'd like to see more than just a snow shower down here but I'm thinking that's about a 1 in a 100 shot.

OKpowdah
Here's an interesting idea... While we won't be breaking any record lows tonight, the RANGE between highs last week and the low tonight could exceed the range between the record high and record low. tamarack
A day and a half of dreary drizzle at 38-40F produces all of 0.10" rain; hope this isn't a harbinger of what April-May will bring. A couple flakes flew by here about 9 AM as the wind picked up. GYX has MBY with a low of 14 tonight. If the wind dies down at sunset, my frost pocket could be under 10 - not unusual for late March in a normal year but could be interesting for the more precocious plants here in AUG where I've seen some green on willows. Thursday looks like mainly SN for MBY, but most coming after sunrise and nothing heavy. -SN and spring sun equals little/no accum. Nice event on 06 gfs at day 10; I'll give it 1% chance of happening. powderfreak
Upslope snow continues to produce squally weather over the mountain. 2" now from 2,000ft and higher. So nice to see big fat upslope flakes flying around. Looks like it should finally diminish but as usual, its lingering longer than forecast. Hard to stop once it starts for some reason. Love NW wind and CAA. Vis has been down to 1/2sm this morning.
