OKpowdah
OT ... Wow, there are at least 25 robbins on the lawn outside my house right now. They just kinda chilling out. Wow, seriously 40 robbins right outside now
HoarfrostHubb
LOL. It's really interesting looking on the ensembles...the 500 pattern that is. You go from a big west based -NAO block and then shift it over to AK by the end of the run. Well, you mets had been pointing out troughing coming our way a couple of weeks back I think... A few days to a week of winter-like bliss might be on the way. Might give our alaskan friends a chance to thaw out
HoarfrostHubb
Wow, seriously 40 robbins right outside now I can't get over how parts of my lawn are green (and even growing!) and how the daffodils in my neighborhood have been up for a couple of days. This is last year in late April:

You go from a big west based -NAO block and then shift it over to AK by the end of the run. That block over and a bit east of Hudson Bay is actually pretty ideal when you look at the composite for late March and April snow events in New England. Its further south than you normally see in winter composites for an ideal NAO block.

I feel like seeing any kind of block this time of year is usually ok to see...just because it means the pattern is probably supportive of a low moving out south of SNE. As usual, the caveat right now is that things are still relatively far out..but it's kind of exciting to see. I like the colder air building in towards Quebec during the first week of April. I'm going to remain conservative with my early call of 12-18" here on the east slope. This way if things trend even better there is room to go up from there. Mr Torchey
Im so far out of the loop right now, where is the realistic threat for snow Thursday? Would love to see some last flakes, and so so good for the lawns and gardens.

I have heard about it since I was a lad, but not sure how snow helps I believe snowflakes contain nitrogen! "poor mans fertilizer", and actually insulates the ground during the winter. We just need water period, everything dried up as it lifted north, okx now going with 59 here tomorrow with showers before 9 am, looks like another great day. A snow day would be awesome for me! CoastalWx
How much snow would the Euro drop verbatim? Tough to tell. With daytime and maybe not the best rates, it would probably be only in a narrow corridor. Probably a couple of inches in spots near and above 1K? Looked like the Berks might get 2-4 or so. CoastalWx
BOX wants nothing to do with the Euro..instead they ride the POS Well even a compromise would mean nothing much for SNE so I can understand why the hedged towards the GFS. They did mention the possibility.
