HoarfrostHubb
The maples flower than send leaves out. I don't count tiny green buds as leaf out....I'm talking full out leaves. There will be trees with some leaves, but I don't think leaf out is possible..unless we just torch the first half of April Oh, I am not thinking my area would be fully leafed until a little later, but Nature seems confused this week.Needs a good old fashioned Winter b**ch Slap

I'm sure they'll be some maples with leaves on 4/15 since we had a crazy jump start.

PineHillsWx
We usualy aren't fully leafed out here until after may 1st...but some years we can make pretty good progress by 4/20-25 or so where more than 50% are out. There is really no sign of anything yet at all here with the exception of those bushes with thorns on them that are getting that tinge of green look. I'm surprised you aren't seeing anything. During my drive from Concord to Pepperell late yesterday I noticed many trees starting to flower (buds on them), especially the oaks and many of the bushes etc too. It looks to me like we are a solid 3 weeks ahead of schedule. If we ever did get an early April snowstorm......yikes. I don't even want to consider the power outage implications. Have had enough of that after the ice storm and then the Oct snowstorm. Of course, my bad for not buying a generator yet.

weatherMA
Looks like a storm around 3/31-4/2 around the east coast is a good bet, but it would obviously take a lot for it to work out like the 12z gfs has. What I would give to be able to take the 12z gfs verbatim.

ORH_wxman
On a more realistic note in the shorter term, it looks like Monday night could be a hard freeze for most people here. Hopefully nobody started planting delicates.

Yeah anyone in the interior would be a fool to plant anything before mid April anyway...but even on the coast near Boston it is not safe to do in late March. But I've heard (not necessarily on this forum) people talking about getting their gardens going early with this weather and I was like "uh, you might want to hold off on that if they can't handle a freeze"

Clinch Leatherwood
It actually looks pretty good at the end of its run. No snow/no snow of consequence inside of 200 hours...anything else beyond that, who cares.
ORH_wxman
No snow/no snow of consequence inside of 200 hours...anything else beyond that, who cares. Well the period the weeklies hit and then the ensembles (as we got closer) was the last couple days of March and into the first 10-14 days of April...so that is what we are waiting for right now. I wouldn't expect it to show anything before that except for far NNE where they have a shot on 3/26-3/28. Right now most of the OP run commentary is just entertainment and tongue-in-cheek. But I'm not shocked to see some of those solutions appearing on and off in the long range as we get a tad closer...the building high-amplitude ridge in the plains during thistime of year and the downstream western Atlantic is certainly a cut-off pattern...so I'd expect a few interesting model runs if that keeps up getting closer.
