The official normal annual snowfall is 23.2 inches at GTNC3 which is the Groton co-op located 1.7 miles NNE of GON.

I dont think anywhere on the Cape averages nearly that low...SE CT is def the worst spot in SNE for snow.

ctsnowstorm628
Norwich? 23.4", while GON is 25.4" according to OKX http://www.erh.noaa.gov/okx/SnowClimo/SnowClimoMain1.html
ORH_wxman
Norwich? Unfortunately the Norwich coop records are very poor for snowfall so we can't use it....the nearest site that looks to have decent data is Colchester but they discontinued that site in 1973...but it did have a long record going back to the late 1800s...they averaged about 43" of snow during that period....but we should keep in mind their elevation was about 500 feet. So probably in the lower elevations around 100-200 feet the average was in the upper 30s.

snowman21
Norwich? There's the Norwich Utility Plant which averages 28.0, but that is a bit low (the last set of normals had them <20, so bad measuring there). Jewett City is 37.9 which is maybe 10 miles NE of there. Colchester is a whole different place and far displaced from minimal BL conditions. I thought Norwich Public Utilities was good until I looked and saw all the missing data. There's obviously a huge gradient once you get further away from the shoreline BL effects and into the hills...N Foster at 630 feet pretty close to you averages 59" per year.
