CoastalWx
As a graduate of morning wood academy I can tell all of you full leaf out will not occur before May. If April is mild, then most trees could be done by then. It's a function of temp and lots of sunlight. Oaks are usually the most stubborn.

Sweet day 62/32 here, nice report from East Haven last night. FEMA FTL yet again, off the record we are still trying to get reimbursed here too. Fire danger off the hook if winds kick up next week. Damage In Tolland
One of my favorite days of the year is when I am driving down the highway on a hill and can see all the trees have completely fully leaved out, usually first/second week of May. With at or above normal temps from today thru April 15th..full leafout will be 100% complete by mid April
Ginx snewx
There is one cloud in the distant east horizon, so that means it's overcast. My coworkers from Westerly yesterday were pissed when we told them it was 70 and sunny everywhere else. They were fog and

Seems to me the big problem now is for people with the money to rebuild the red tape in the permit process from the feds and state. Living on the water is amazing... but it comes with a big risk. Knowing exactly what your flood insurance will cover (and what it won't) plus knowing the cost to rebuild is a must.

Typhoon Tip
There seems to be 3 distinct air masses over the last 24 hours. Last night theta-e ridge and near 60F air (also assisting in t-storm production in northern Mass), was removed by general NW/ SE moving cfropa. That’s what is supporting the current balm in the interior as it isn’t a whole helluva lot colder than yesterday’s air mass – just drier mainly. But, there is also a backdoor air mass lodged into coastal Mass, too.

Typhoon Tip
I wonder if that coastal Mass mirk might start rollin' westward as we continue to heat up the interior. ...It may be boring to watch but that kind of local-scaled stuff intrigues me. All the more reason Spring Fire season could be one of your top stories along with the heat. I know our FD here was talking about it this morning, clearing fire lanes in the forests this week.
