eyewall
My grade would be a D with the only thing saving it from an F being the deformation band snow on 2/19. Overall still the most disappointing and miserable winter I have experienced in NC.
CentralNC
F- Not only from a SE perspective but there have been few really big events to follow throughout the lower 48. I'm 52 and this has been the worst/most boring winter I can remember in quite some time. Early to mid-90's had some real losers too, but this is as bad as it gets. If you were going to grade the entire CONUS, you would probably have to go with an F or a D. The only area that saw ANY memorable winter weather would probably be the Front Range and High Plains. Northern Foothills Snowman
For those of us who want snow, and a lot of it, a D-..For the seniors trying to heat thier home it was probably an A+.

I'd have to give it a D as well, and if not for that one storm, and that one band really, it would have easily been an F. Pretty sure most people on the east coast would grade out somewhere in the d-f range this year, just not a good one for us snow lovers.
burgertime
F- saw one little flurry that shouldn't even count as one. As Charles Barkley would say, "turrbile..just turrible"

Mr Bob
If it is going to not snow any, then I would be inclined to appreciate the amount of warmth this winter. For the type of winter it was I will go with a C...If it is cold and no snow...that would be my definition of F....
SuperNET
I would give it an A+ I hate snow and cold......
Brick Tamland
I guess it depends on how you look at it. If you want snow, I would give it a F. If you like nice weather, I would give it a C. If ti wasn't going to snow, I'd rather have sunny days and temps around 70. But we had a lot of cloudy/rainy days in the 50s.
nchighcountrywx
For NC High Country: D- Lowest snow totals in many many years. Don't want a repeat this October at start of the 2012-2013 winter.

NavarreDon
For my back yard & with a F being no snow I would say a D to D-. My biggest snow was barely 2" & all my snow was from flow events. Just a awful winter for snow lovers.
gtg947h
I would give it an A+ I hate snow and cold...... Concur. We could have maybe used a bit more rain, but upper 70s and low 80s made me happy and kept my heating bill low.

Your criteria for F might be higher than 0.

Your criteria for F might be higher than 0. The Airport has recorded a trace this year & they avg. a little over a foot. I live about 25 miles Nrth of the airport (Downtown splits the diff.) and you can see in my sig what I have averaged since 2003 when I moved to my location. I get more thru NW flow events than the airport does. If you include the last 2 years it brings my average up to 18+" a year.
NEGa
this is an easy grade. F- - totally crappy winter, esp in light of the last two years. even though i was prepared for it it still sucked big time. we never really even had anything to track sigh

CAD Addict
I've gotten 12" so far this winter, so at least I've had some snow to quench my weenie thirst. But considering I'm coming off two winters of 84" and 57", I'll give this one a D.
EmersonGA
Winter IMBY dropped the class and didn't even get a grade. He will try again next year. I had a couple of heavier snow showers early on from some ULLs and had some flurries but nothing great. I think we got in the teens 4 nights and had plenty of frosts but thats it. Tacoma
definitely an FFFF, have never witnessed such a terrible winter, I hope its another 30 years before we see another winter like this. next year has to be and most likely will be better than this winter, heck it won't take much to beat this winter. Dunkman
Have to give it a D. 2" out of an average of 9" and we were really lucky to get that. Worse, most of the winter there wasn't even a storm to track. Actually a D is probably generous.
audioguy3107
I'll break it down here in NE Georgia. Snow: F- Cold: F Winter Weather Tracking Fun: F Winter Severe Events: B (A- if you count Mar 2-3)

MotoWeatherman
From a snow perspective... (F)...first winter since I moved up here that I didn't get at least enough snow to make a snowball. From an "enjoy the outdoors perspective"... (A+)...loved being able to jog in shorts many times.

eyewall
So far it is going pretty much as I expected. It is amazing how many times we said the pattern change is around the corner and of course that never happened. It will be a hard wait until next year for sure. HWY316wx
I give it a Z. Because it was asleep all winter. But if I was giving it a school grade it was an F. Plus I would make it write, "I will snow winter of 2012-2013" 500 times on the board. Ugh. Even weenies didn't have anything to get excited about. chapelhillwx
I'll give it a C- because we got about an inch on the 19th... there have been winters which were way worse .
