dan11295
What torch out there today...out performing all guidance...got a good shot at record highs at all 4 BOX climo sites. . Well, except PVD, cant see them getting to 69.
CoastalWx
What torch out there today...out performing all guidance...got a good shot at record highs at all 4 BOX climo sites. I just checked something that surprised me....despite the torch winter, neither station has reported a single record high this winter. Snow pack is getting blitzed...only snow left is in the shade right now. Just consistent days that got into the 40s and low 50s. No crazy inside runners where it got to 60 and high dews. Logan11
The Gulf of AK vortex is going strong at H384 on the op GFS. LOL We started talking about that beast in November. This is about the third recurrence of this general pattern. So in actuality we are still in the prevailing winter season pattern ...March version. If we had a decent December snowstorm lots of inland spots would have had snow cover all winter. Read posts from NNE folks who still had T-day week snow left. I could not be more relaxed, what a job by okx with the 66, this is just amazing, we need rain, hope we get some tonight.......I have perennials that are coming up way too early at properties thankfully we get a nice 36 hour cooldown. CapturedNature
66/42, complete torch...when the wind gusts its actually refreshing rather then cold the fact that these 1pm temps could still go up 3-5F BOS 68 ORH 64 BAF 68 BDL 67 ASH 67 A little warm Yeah, it's a little warm for me in my "office". Try being in a 16x20' room with a 3x4' firebox and about 100% humidity. I have just about every window, door, damper, cupola you name it open at it's still about 90° in here. The breeze feels nice though when it comes through! It'll feel good boiling on Saturday but I think early next week is going to do it for me with these temps. CoastalWx
you do have to admit, that's a sick torch for 3/8 For the water, yes. The air aloft is quite warm, so that is probably helping the temps near the water. Air from 1500ft up mixing down and helping warm temps a bit. It's not like SSTs are FL like. About 3-5F above I think.
Mr Torchey
It's going to be 60 or 61 at BDR. Congrats. But for now, the euro probably ends as an hour or 2 of snow. Pete will get 1.2" and claim winter's still hanging on.
