ski MRG
No, skins are a back country ski component. Often called climbing skins they are a type of laminate that adhere to the bottom of your skis and usually clip to the tip and tail to provide traction for climbing up inclines. They sort of turn your ski into a snow shoe for getting up high in the back country and then you peel them off for your downhill descent. They are necessary for steeper ascents (real steep requires snow shoes with skis strapped to your pack) but for slight to moderate climbing grip wax will do just fine. You would only use skins for back country telemark skis set ups or for randonee (girly-man) back country bindings. Skins hanging off poles drying off before being packed away for the descent.lol Cold Miser has a dirty mind, he'll have fun with that one.

Damage In Tolland
Backdoor cancel on this latest Euro run for next week. 60s and 70s every day. The ens continue it through the end of the run (d15 and beyond). I'm not sure I've seen a stretch like this modeled in April before...nevermind mid March. AWT...75-80 late next week./weekend. Logan11
Hovered in the low/mid 30s here overnight so the snow melt was arrested temporarily. One last morning of a white landscape before we lose almost everything in the sunny areas today with a forecast high of 62. Actually saying up to 1/2 inch tonight after the fropa as temps plunge into the 20s. I don't get the NWS point forecast high of 39 tomorrow with 850 temps of -12C, seems too high. 47.5/45...Off to the races already
Logan11
I worked at a Roy Rogers that summer of '88. LOL It was really hot working in the backroom making their fried chicken. But then I went to Germany to visit family etc. around August 1st and escaped the heat armageddon for the rest of the summer. I worked construction and at a supermarket in 1988. That was an awful summer. Endless humidity

Logan11
Easter is April 8th this year... It might be tough for many ski areas to hold out for that weekend with this long range disaster.

Kevin has not gotten one forecast right since October. 1-2 seems good for those Kev said would never see snow again, according to the Euro
