CoastalWx
LOL, 12 Z GFS is what I wish in Maine Hrs 204-384. Like I said, mean ridge position will allow for warmest air to the west.

Logan11
There's really no torch on the 12Z GFS. A few dirty mildish days next week with clouds, rain etc. Well I hate mild wx.... and I want no part of pollen before April. Why congrats on avoiding the torch? Tropopause_Fold
Why congrats on avoiding the torch? LOL - i was going to say the same. seriously, at this point, in this pattern...there is nothing appealing about 43F-47F days. might as well root on warmer times. I mean if you hate it because of allergies, fine, but then it comes in one big bang in May.
Tropopause_Fold
the wind is going to ruin the feel of the torch a bit - especially thur. nothing like a SW wind gusting to 30 to 40 knots to mute some warmth.
Logan11
From on here on out it's pretty hard not to hit 40 in the coastal plain unless it's a real arctic airmass like yesterday. But a solution like the GFS opens up interior elevation snow possibilities and that's my goal for latter March into April. All kidding aside though we know this could well be an errant run, but who knows. LOL - i was going to say the same. seriously, at this point, in this pattern...there is nothing appealing about 43F-47F days. might as well root on warmer times. Ginx snewx
The GFS op is likely on crack. Of course exactly why I preceded my comment with a LOL, seen the rollover ridge make us much cooler than expected before though.

Beyond sickening to read the stories and see the despair. Tornados would be cool if they stayed out on the plains in the fields. Unreal power and fascinating but holy hell. ski MRG
The GFS op is likely on crack. Why? Because you don't like seeing your beloved warmth already coming up short. More snow ahead, its a lock.

GFS run was nice but not in agreement with anything yet, subtle changes are going to affect a lot. Upslope this weekend, I would imagine MRG is involved and would not be surprised if your neck of the woods gets some squalls. We are in NJ this weekend for a softball tourney/getaway for me and Momma. After we return it's my time until April. Hoping to hit Jay Peak again this year. Hey I'd take a freak snow in a heartbeat. But having temps in the 30s with no moisture is useless unless you are a skier. And the GFS op may be on crack, because it simply is that...the GFS op beyond day 7. However like I said, it keeps the mean ridge west which means we are prone to troughing coming out of se Canada. tamarack
Why congrats on avoiding the torch? Can't avoid mud season in my neighborhood, but it belongs in April, preferably mid-late April. Having it begin mid-March (2010 - ugh!) is not a good thing, because an early start is more likely to mean a long duration mudrun than an early ending.
