March 2012........Happy Sping

It's funny...I find myself hating the hot weather more and more. I will say that it makes for nice nights maybe having some beers out on the waterfront (nice thing to have over here)..but I don't enjoy as much now, like I did when I was much younger. Of course if I had a pool or beachhouse, it would be different. Hot weather is good for a beach or pool party deal.

Honestly, I am starting to hate the cold more after being up here for 2 years now lol but I do love a good 85F and humid day here on the water because HFD will be like 92F and miserable and drop off to like 64F at night and we stay 68-70F right at the water. But yeah I couldn't do the whole Florida 79F/77F every night thing.

By August I do look forward to going back to VT and 55F nights. So refreshing.

RI is even more drastic due to open ocean, the terminal moraine which hugs the coast is often the demarcation line, you can go from 70 to 50 in a mile or less.

Yeah my friends have a place at Quonnie in Charlestown. I go there during the summer and try to make it over to Pt.Judith and Aunt Carries restaurant. So amazing. During June and even July , it'll be 85F off 95 and 72F on Rt. 1 down there.

RI has some of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast, hands down...........we have enjoyed them for years, and Block Island is my second favorite place in the states, especially just off season in September, and also in the winter have had some amazing times out there.

Let me clear this up . I don't want a Morch in March . I would much prefer having March be like it was when we were kids and it was a winter month. But since it is no longer that, I would much rather have March Morch than have it be 45 and mud and drizzle or even 45 and sunny. That wx is crap. If it can't snow why not have March Morch?

Yeah Block Island is fantastic. People have talked so much sh*t about Narragansett Bay and how dirty it is, but for people who live in the greater Providence and Warwick areas, its a great escape and has improved greatly over the last 15 years.

ITs a process, an evolution just like fall, a step up as opposed to step down, its a season thats the way I look at it. I just try and enjoy the ups and downs of each season the ebb and flow. After receiving 11.8 inches of snow, this disaster of a winter can not end quick enough, obviously I am also biased because of work. For people that have snow on the ground its much different, and I totally understand that and appreciate it.

Nothing worse than bare ground and upper 30s dark and dreary, so for me bring on the warmth, and the fact it will be light out till almost 8 pm on Sunday makes it even better.........hopefully winter 13' will bring snow, this year absolutely sucked, a year after the 2nd best winter of my life behind 95'96'.

I love spring...the assortment of ornamental trees/shrubs in Westchester is amazing. The town is literally ablaze with dogwood, star magnolia, rhododendron, pears, weeping cherries (my parents have one of those), azaleas, etc. It's such a beautiful sight, and there's nothing like a warm spring evening with the trees first coming into leaf, sitting on the porch by the cherry tree having a cold beer as a gentle breeze blows. I find the touch of crisp cool at night following a warm day to be so reassuring, feeling the strength of the sun developing while a hint of a winter night still remains. There's definitely a sense of renewal when April rolls around, no matter how much I adore winter.

If March is going to torch all the way to the end of the month, I'll have to try and get one last event in April...40 of the past 60 Aprils here have had an accumulating snow event.

I think we might sneak something out after March 21st. I'm still keeping my eyes on the models as the GFS seems to have some cold air sweeping down into Southeast Canada by the end of the run. Winter isn't over for Rindge by a long shot, although I admit it's looking bleak.

I think it's funny that year after year people get tricked into thinking Spring has sprung. There will be more snow, oh yes, there will be more snow.

i feel like I need to stick to the shadows, and i'm not trying to piss anyone off...by i am very much looking forward to the 60's and 70's and i wish that type of weather would start tomorrow...

Well, it can be nice...but keep in mind that those days are rare until May or so.

Even this vaunted Morch will have raw days in the 30s and 40s with sheet drizzle.

Bugs stink, too...

Are you back here for a while?

I just can't stand warm, humid weather. I actually like drizzle and 40s. Call me crazy if you want, but I find this type of weather invigorating and refreshing for the soul, even if it is boring. Unfortunately, my location is usually farthest away from the sea breeze and back door fronts coming in from the east, so we tend to be warmer in the spring than BOS. I wouldn't mind a June 2009 repeat this summer.

I'm with you Mitch. If I never had to endure a war muggy day again that would be fine. The drizzle and 40 degree weather is great. It's perfect Spring fishing weather. After a long Winter 40's feels warm to me. Was June 2009 really rainy? I think that's what it was.....
