Yeah... the warmth though completely depends on dew points for snow melt. If its 50/17 then surprisingly little damage gets done. If its 50/40 then you are hemorrhaging snow. I haven't looked too closely but nights look relatively chilly for how warm the days get, so it should be a somewhat dry heat. If the afternoons are seeing 30% RH (or even less in the mountain valleys), then the snow will stick around for a bit... especially if nights are getting well down below freezing.

True. BTW- still mod. snow. 2.6" lol

I don't really care about snow pack at this point. It looks nice for a few days but I'm fine with it getting warm.

Yeah I'm ready for spring myself.

Your PC says Wed Night, Thurs night, not but Fri yes, anyway we were talking about NNE. Morch is back in full flame 11-15, maybe can clean my yard from winter debris then, oh wait.....

yeah, back to below 0C but by then a lot of damage done. Oh well. Just hoping for March 93You will be sunburned to a crisp at SR

$423 for 5 days ski and stay, staying an extra day to catch the Dumont Cup finals on Sat, no skiing. Probably will do Wildcat, Cannon too as higher els do better in torch. Hopefully by the 18 th we get colder. SR making snow this week in preparation, there will be plenty left.

Oh dude there'll be plenty of snow left... no worries on the mountains at least until early April. Sure if it torches for over 2 weeks straight maybe some bare spots on south facing spots, but man-made snow lasts forever. I bet that's not even a concern at this point at most ski resorts north of Rutland-Conway line. Even the natural snow trails have like a four foot snowpack. 80" settled depth at 3,700ft here.

The pattern looks dry though and that's good because warm temps melt snow, but rain and high humidity really melts snow. Rain opens it up and percolates through causing more melting. I still think if its just warm temperatures, the whole "New England will be completely snow-free in 10-14 days" tune of some posters is going to be a bit of a stretch. The ME and NH crowd will especially be able to hang on for quite some time as they climatologically do in the spring time.

Plus, I do think we've got at least one more solid event coming. Might be in April though, haha.

I know, it's funny to read.

Well it definitely doesn't look like an epic March. Sometimes NNE can rock in March while SNE melts but not this year. Looks torch-like which means a meltdown. Certainly won't be adding real snow to the pack any time soon.

18ZGFS has that anafrontal snow now that the Euro had yesterday. Yep it gets warm but I have been there with 60 and heavy rain and the next day it was superb. My glade days are over so not even close to being worried.

Doesn't really matter as long as it gets cold and snows again the last week of March and/or April. :)

Except maybe to the fruit farmers that could lose their crop if the blossoms come out.....only to be nailed when things flip to cold again.

Dear Lord..I just saw the Euro ens mean days 11-15.. Some places will touch 80 between New Eng and the northern plains..Unreal heat dome..Almost Sonoran in nature

You probably remember May 9, 1977 :) 70F the day before then 5.5" of snow and more in some places. Snow day in May for me in sixth grade.

Oh yeah it should be fine.

It doesn't look like an epic March for the ski areas that's all I was saying. May be painful toward the end of the month but things will be fine next 2 weeks with a gradual meltdown. That said there are some areas that are still struggling with mediocre depths. Jay, Stowe, etc are fine... but Killington on south doesn't have much to spare.

What I got most out of this thread is the newfound respect for skiMrg. I love the lifestyle and the story of the teachings at the Waldorf school parlaying into a great living is fabulous. Pete.....come to the next gtg as I want to have some time to talk. OT but I had long hair and a ponytail for a while in the late 1990s. High profile job now and judgement suggests to me to forget that idea for now...

Thanks Jerry, that means a lot coming from such an esteemed member of the SNE gang. I look forward to the next gtg and that chat.
