audioguy3107
Pollen count here is 9369 today, another record http://www.daculaweather.com/4_pollen_count.php I really feel for the allergy sufferers out there...and to think we're still over a week away from April 1. I've already got a tan for crying out loud. It's amazing the bees need to even land on anything to collect.
Gastonwxman
Looks like things are getting a tad active. Severe thunderstorm affecting the Morganton area with quarter-sized hail and gusts of at least 60mph with another storm in Earl heading toward Boiling Springs that just recently strengthened some with max sized hail of 0.50" . Snowless in Carrollton
One thing i can't stand about warmer weather is all the bees and wasps, etc. I know it sounds silly but i'm scared of those things. When I got home a few minutes ago I had to wait 30 minutes just to go inside because they were just hovering over my front door forever.

I used to do the same thing. omg lol. Currently 84 and it just randomly rained just now for 15 seconds with nothing on the radar.
Solak
Doesn't take a lot to excite me, but I've been fascinated by this pattern of our showers and storms coming down from the North instead of the usual SW. Fun to watch on SAT imagery and radar.
downeastnc
Doesn't take a lot to excite me, but I've been fascinated by this pattern of our showers and storms coming down from the North instead of the usual SW. Fun to watch on SAT imagery and radar. Yesterday the forecast was for a dry week now MHX has us at 40% tomorrow and 50% tomorrow night and 30% on Thurs. We had a tiny warned cell just east of here had a 2.5" hail marker on it and I swear the storm wasnt 3 miles across lol. If that cell to your north holds up it might get close to ya, looks like east Raleigh is gonna get get it for sure.....prolly some hail in it as well. Met1985
Had a nice storm here. About 0.50 inches of rain and cooled down nicely. Currently sitting at 62 degrees, Wow only 2 degrees above average.

Carvers Gap
Summer began before St. Patrick's Day this year. I seriously hope there is a major pattern shift by the actual summer or we will almost be in literal hell Eyewall. I was thinking the same thing. The most recent ENSO discussion, dated Mar. 19, states we will be entering ENSO neutral conditions in April. Long term, the graph looks to be a weak Nino through, at the very least, mid-winter. Nino conditions here in NE TN usually are tolerable for summer temps. Do you think the ENSO conditions change the pattern for summer or will it take the atmosphere until early fall to reflect the changes in the Pacific? Solak
Great shot, eyewall! Looks like that cell has about wound down. Lots of outflow boundaries wandering around this evening.... more fun stuff to watch, even if nothing materializes from them.
weatherheels
Finally getting some much needed rain. Storm is producing pretty heavy rain, some pea size hail in the NE corner of Forsyth county, pretty good lightning as well.
Jon
Eyewall you reminded me of a pic I took this past weekend on the border of VA/WV, not sure where exactly but this looked amazing in person...wanted to share with the SE crew:

blueheronNC
Got hammered by this cell over the past 30 minutes or so. 190 cloud-to-ground strikes over the past hour, so needless to say it's been quite a light show. And for March? Unbelievable. The tiny frogs and bullfrog in the pond by my place are incredibly loud right now. Sounds like July out there. When I got home a few minutes ago I had to wait 30 minutes just to go inside because they were just hovering over my front door forever. I am there with ya! Stepped in a yellow jacket nest after hurricane opal ravaged my yard...being swarmed from head to toe... And being stung in the head, hand and ankle...will put fear in ya of stinging things...had to get shots to get swelling to go down....mercifully that's all that happened....and that was because the folks cutting trees in the yard came running up and beat them off me. Solak
Only thing we got was a heavy coating of pollen. Right now I'm sitting between 2 showers 3 miles to the SE of me. edit: They merged right on top of me and are doing a fine job of washing the pollen away! edit2: Just like that, .39" in the bucket in 75 minutes! Big storm rolled through just E of here last night, saw a huge maple tree blown over and some bradford pear damage E of Mooresville on 152.Saw some fairly large dog boxes flipped over and damaged. Also some siding peeled back on a house. Looked easily around 60 mph or more to me to do that.
Mr Bob
Pretty amazing contrast between Tennessee and Georgia over the last year!
Snowless in Carrollton
Very strange how Georgia is ranked #2 driest and bordering TN had one of their wetttest periods ever. I don't see any other bordering states with such a big contrast. I also find it strange how all the states "much below normal" are all in the southern part of the country. metalicwx366
Most of the drought is down here in South Georgia. The Northern most part of the state is not even in a drought. Edit: I didn't even know my area was in a slight risk area for Saturday.
