Any more reports from gville,sc area? The one time I'm on the rd,and miss the storm of the year.

My wife works at St. Francis Hospital in Downtown Greenville. She said the first storm coated the ground with hail and looks like in her pictures the biggest stones where about quarter sized but mostly marbles.

30 minutes later another cell moved through and she reported marble sized hail yet again.

AAACCCKKKK. Two of those nasty little hailstorms just rolled over Jasper [AL], where I was at work in the local mall. I honestly didn't expect that much of a pounding. Torrential rain, probably a little flooding out there somewhere, and exceptionally vivid lightning. SPC storm reports page lists 1-2" hail in various locations around Walker County, and a bit of high wind nearby as well.

Ironically, nearly exactly a year ago, an even bigger hail event tore through when I was working here, at almost the same time... that one did massive damage to car lots around the city and damaged dozens of cars in the parking lot. Still got a video of that one somewhere. And that one was rotating - the meso passed pretty much overhead and we had to take cover in the bathroom of the store. I got a few whiffs of pine during the worst of that one and the folks at home reported seeing two small funnel clouds, but no touchdowns were ever confirmed from that particular cell. Most interesting workday EVER.

Ended the month with the following:

Rain total: 3.57"

Highest Temp.: 84°

Lowest Temp.: 27°

Not bad in the rain department but looking at the temperature contrast, what a difference between the max and min! Goes to show how wild the weather can swing when it comes to how the air feels. Winter and summer-like conditions felt within the month. You're one crazy son of a gun, March.

I am at a friend's near Lake Johnson off Avent Ferry and had hail covering the ground. Peas to dimes with some Quarters. The Quarter sized was measured 10 minutes after it fell and began melting. Some reports are coming in from Raleigh of half dollars and golf balls.

Not so good in the rain department here. Only 6.41 total for the first three months of the year.
